$_57.jpg Just scored this on ebay. I think quite possibly it might be one of the ugliest Carvins I've ever seen, just hope that it plays better than it looks. Walnut body. Showroom demo getting blown out. I am glad to see that it has the in-line headstock and not the big toe one. Will post some more when it arrives.

Not too bad, I think a less wonky shaped black pickguard would help the look a lot. How much did it set you back if you don't mind me asking?

Nothing ugly about the grain in that wood. I think a black or tort pickguard would look a lot better.

I agree, that is the ugliest Carvin ever! It is so ugly that it should be disposed of in a specific way. (PM me for details on how to dispose :bag:)

    Agreed.

Unless you travel back in time to the late 60's, when hippies were stripping the finishes off their Fenders, staining them walnut. Then you'd have the coolest looking bass ever.

    Just joking.

    (no I meant it)

    (still joking) ;)

Ugliest Carvin? With so many options, and so much history, this one isn't even in the running!

Another vote for a black pick guard. Overall nice looking bass.

  15. I was prepared to see a gaudy over customized job but this one is nice and no-frills. I like it! Let us know how it plays and sounds when you get it.

I think it's pretty nice looking: I love the body color, the headstock's ok, and with a nice pickguard as others have said, you could have a real winner! Nice score :bassist:

Thank all of you for the positive comments. I believe a new pickguard is definitely in order.
