I am coming back to the fold have a 55-01 deluxe on the way!!!! My previous was iotanets old bass, burst finish sadosky pre and nordstand big splits. Such an awesome tone.

Have yet to settle on my tonal choice for the one has anyone tried the Bartolini quad coils?

I don't know of anybody who has.

But I know Brubaker's top basses have quad coils (X2).

His basses have a lot bite and sting (if you know what I mean).

I may just do the big splits or fat stacks with a nordstrand pre.... I'm looking for modern gospel/funk tone but still able to mellow enough to do some smoother r and b.

hmm seems that push pull knob pulls right out!

seems someone shoved the mk1 back in? masking tape, a loose wire, and resoldered connections on the vol/passive knob. and the shielding paint doesnt seem like my old laklands.

That doesn't look like it's factory.

Otherwise that is a fabulous bass.

I love the deluxe 01's...

I would probably put big singles and a Nordy 3 band in there...

Going to reshield. All of it and install a nordstrand pre with passive tone control and big splits

The shielding paint looks the same as my old 55-01D. That bass was just like yours except it had a rosewood board.

Can't get a really good pic of it but the paint is uneven with brush marks that left bare wood exposed. My old 55 01 and 55 02 looked so beautiful under the hood lol. These noise issues and a ground issue right now nothing too major it was still a decent deal.

I'm excited should be orderin my pre today going with a lh3. So that and my new knobs should be here soon. Just lurking the classifieds for a good deal on Nordstrand pickups

Had my eye out for a good but not too expensive fretless and found this one in nice shape. June 2002 build date. Output jack is a bit flaky, otherwise the quality is really good. Sounds good too, strung it with 40-100 Chromes, nice mwah and I really like the bridge pickup, sounds thicker than most.

got the pre amp in and a new set of knobs to go with it. Waiting on pick ups.... will be a good suprise.

For those of you who may not know, Lakland is offering several special edition Skylines for 2010.

We are have also commissioned a Special Edition LOG (Lakland Owners Group) P5.

30 will be produced.
