Pawn shop rescue? Did I miss this?

I found this advertised from a Los Vegas pawn shop, either someone gave up on playing (bass) while down there or couldn’t give up playing (the tables) while down there.

At any rate, it’s a 1997 55-94 that needed some TLC, some battle scars that needed dressing & a once over buy the guys at Lakland which gave 2 thumbs up.

It’s an incredible player, sounds amazing & at 8.9 lbs is not a back breaker.

Got a question. How does a 4-76 stack up against a stingray tone-wise?

Dumb question, but is a -76 the same as a -94 without the neck p/u?

I'm pretty sure its got HB in the MM sweetspot.

the 76 is more in the MM position. I thought it could get a very convincing MM tone. Ferg now owns my old 76, maybe he'll chime in.

Ahhh....the beauty of GAS, I have a beautiful fretless Sterling on the way and I am already trying to convert it to a lakland...lol

Nice....mine isnt nearly as rugged. Mine went off road once, but that was just because the driveway was full so I parked in the grass.

So does anyone know a place somewhat close to New Hampshire that is a Lakland dealer? Or does anyone live around here that has a collection? I'm using a Peavery Cirrus right now, and love it, but I can't get my mind off Lakland's!

LOL...thats funnier than you know....when I bought this one (Brand New '09) I never tried the 4WD. I was sitting in the jeep while my wife was getting chinese take out and though I would check it out....DIDNT work. There was a clip that held the shift cable that broke, so I just got it fixed last week. If that grass would have been taller, I may have been stuck. At least I know I can call you for a tow So anyway, the guys at work rag me about my non 4wd 4x4 jeep.

Hey Lakie 5 string owners. (or BEAD, I won't discriminate)

Do many of you ever go down to a Low A? I'm sure the Lakies would handle it fine, just curious to how low you go.

I've tried it. Low A seems to get lost in the mix, at least with my/our band. B works great, but the A... nah.

+1 I think when you get that low, it eats up so much power to genereate that low note and it doesn'y project at all....I could be wrong, but that is my opinion.
