I bet it guzzles the "gas" though (we call it petrol in Australia, hence quotation marks).

I've tried it. Low A seems to get lost in the mix, at least with my/our band. B works great, but the A... nah.

Yeah, I'm not sure if I would go down to a Low A when I get my 5er, just wondering how the Lakies would go, is all.

He he he! Reminds me of a buddy of mine showing up with a new Jeep, right off the lot, and getting stuck in my driveway! He went of the edge a little and there is a very steep area. He would have ended upside down in my neighbor's yard. I had to winch him out

all of my basses get there "in rotation"........love them all. Each one has the songs they fit in well with....The 55- series (55-02, 55-07 and Fretless) have the most versatility....

That's good to hear, I was just wondering, as you have quite a large flock that needs exercising.

The P has the same technology but the split format makes them "different" than the double humbucker type CHIs....did tis answer your question? if not...rephrase it...

as for posts...that is Greg's job...he tallies them every evening at midnight.

Yep, I see. But I was mainly wondering why they don't make the appearance of the P with the Chi technology match the other Chi-Sonics, as I reckon that would be a hit.
Is it wrong to say that a Chi single, Chi humbucker, and a Split Chi P style would all sound different?
I hope I'm not just repeating myself, lol.

as I stated....mine get in rotation...the MOST I will bring on any Sunday is 2 -one fretted and my fretless.....no need for more than that IMHO....

Yeah, although I think I would still only use one, it's just the way I'm wired I suppose.

I agree 100% - the P sits in REALLY well but it only has 4 strings!!!!

You will LOVE how the fretless sounds on the slower stuff.....just did "Mighty to Save" and a few others this weekend and the mwah was remarkable (not the playing but the sound!)

check out my post earlier on the 55-07 and how well it fits in....that bass is simply remarkable...

I wish they made a Skyline BG...and I know I'm not alone in this,

LOVE the Fralin Ps......

I would try the pickup heights and maybe during the sound check figure out where the J is (level wise) when the P is set at neutral (12 o'clock)....then you will have a reference point...leave the J and the P there until you play them the first time....

I always try to do that when I play 2 basses since I go direct and the only volume conrol I have is on my bass (I am at the mercy of a sound guy as well!)....

hopefully htis will help....maybe???

Do you have your own mix fed through a foldback wedge or in ear moniters?

No details, he just mentioned two racks of B stock Lakies.... I'm sure he could tell you ([email protected]). I can tell you that the "B stock" JO5 didn't have a mark on it, and was better than new... (although it is now wearing new duds

Well, guess just gotta work through it with the builder. Prolly gonna be more towards a J style but we'll see.

I've just seen a lot of the "other" style pickguard for the 55/44 models and really like the MM style you've got going the best. I'd seriously considering doing one of those, whereas the other is not my thing as much.

+1 The MM style pick guard really sets it off IMO, possibly more so than the standard Lakland pickguard.
