I had a name come to me this morning...
I had a close friend pass unexpectedly a few years ago, leaving her 2 kids (1 was a baby) behind. I think I'll name her Traci, in honor of her.
sounds like a good honorarium......

Thats fine. I just wanted to make sure the existing routes can be fully covered up w/the Chi's. If they have to route it more to fit them in no biggie. Think i can pick up a 55-01 super cheap. Thanks Gecko.
I would suggest that the DJ be reincarnated as the Adam Clayton model.

Busted, Matty!
That model is beauteous, though.
I am a little nervous about getting this bass tomorrow. I have been playing 5's and 6's for years. Swore off 4's until I got my Glaub and now it is my go to bass. What if I really like this 44-02? I mean, it's a 4 and it is not even close to the right color....lol. Am I de-evolving?
That's no moon... I mean, that's no Decade, that's a DJ
nah! besides, it IS a GREAT color.....and is a "sorta-burst" so you are in teh right neighborhood......
just keep a nice mix of the 4s and 5s and you will be OK...really.

Ooohhh.....I just back from home for lunch....got to unpack the new lakie...WOW...unplugged, it sounded awesome. Resonated for days! The Cherry Burst is beautiful as well. I dunno, I may be becoming a 4 string guy...maybe not, but maybe yes...this will be interesting. We are heading to nashville for thwe weekend after work, so the bass and WTX500 are already packed up. I will mess with it a bit at the hotel tonight, and get some pics.
Sweet! I love me some cherryburst quilt. My 1st Lakland was a cherryburst 55-02 deluxe (exact twin of your 44-02 but add a B string). Sold it to my younger brother (guitard learning bass).

What are differences between the two necks?

Man you guys have me all pumped for a new Lakland even though I have a new DJ coming in next week.
Now I'm contemplating selling my Spector Euro 4LX to fund a 44-02![]()

Thought some of you may be interested in this.
About 4 months ago, I bought this lovely 44-02 from the TB Classifieds. I know a couple of you have owned this bass (Matty).
I looked far and wide for a solid do-anything bass to give my son for his 16th B-day(he's already got a MIM P). I wanted to keep the price below $600 and was leaning toward a G&L Tribute L2000 when this beautiful bass popped up on the classifieds for a great price(thanks T). More than I wanted to pay, but worth every penny. It's an '04 with the Barts.
I had a couple of months to play with it before his Bday and really fell in love with it. It truly is a "Swiss Army Knife" in the bass world, which is exactly what I wanted. He's in his high school jazz band but likes doing the rock n roll thing with his friends. Perfect bass for this purpose.
It was difficult parting with it, but I gave it to him for his B-day and, needless to say..... he was ecstatic
I wish my dad played bass
Here's a pic of the happy(even if he doesn't look it) teenage Lakland owner...

LOL! He looks like an estatic teenager for sure! My son has a 44-02 and loves it! In fact he just made the Junior High Jazz band today!

Not my bass thats out for paint, i was replying to another post but yes, i thought that.
Im sure i read or saw a video that said the Skylines arrive at Lakland already strung and just needed the electronics putting in.
I guess i could have got it wrong though.
Guess i didnt bother paying attention to the poster i was replying to.
Of course it is a U.S.

Personally, I wish Bobby Vega would climb onboard the Lakland train.
I'd love to own a USBV.![]()
