EDIT: That picture just slays me!

Anyone have experience with both the Humbucker and Single coil Chis? Which do you prefer? I remember in one of the Q&A vids Dan said he felt like the singles have a wider freq. response.

I just went through this with Carl...unfortunately, it cannot be done...the single coil and the humbucker would interfere with each other.....you can make a sweet 44-07 though (double double humbuckers).....go for it....you will NOT be dissapointed!

also - as a PS - you cannot do a P picklup with a CS single in the bridge position either...something about the high output of the CS pickups.....

oh well...back to the old drawing board!!!

Alright, I'm finally on board over at the LOG... after expressing interest originally, but missing out on the inaugural launch some time ago. I was on a self-imposed bass forum hiatus for a while to avoid GAS :)

Anyway, I noticed in the registration over there the mention of the LOG #. I had a Lakland club # from long ago, but guessing the official LOG # is different?

nope....whatever number you had before is still valid!!!

BTW - we are getting more and more non-TBers over there....coolio!!!

well over 300+ members now and still growing!

Hey everyone. Anyone who has a Glaub and a strong set of mitts might be interested in this.

I recieved a set of LaBella Jamerson flats today (49-109, not for the faint of heart). Threw them on my Glaub, died, and then went to Motown heaven. When I'm not gigging with my top 40 rock cover band, my favorite thing to do is play along with Motown and Stax records. After trying the JO Flats, TI Jazz Flats, and the LaBella's, I feel the Labella's win hands down. Great balance from E-G, and with a little foam under the strings, finally get close to copping that Jamerson tone. I'm in no way saying that I can remotely play like Jamerson, as no one can, but am as close tonally as I've ever been.

very cool! those seem like "THICK" strings......no wonder they thump!!!!

BTW - anyone remotely interested in a BG - check out the classified's John (Gecko 5) has a sweet Jameson type for sale!

also - I "MAY" be talked into lparting with my BG PJ for the right price.....he he he!!!

Sad Sad Sad Day today....with the exception of a 3TB hollowbody...I realized today that I am GAS free. It doesn't mean that uncontrolled, irresponsible, carefree spending won't still happen, but I don't NEED too anymore....after a few botched attempts at fretless, I realize that there is nothing I cannot cover with JO5, BG4, and 55-02. So, until my HB comes along, or a BG5 that meets my color requirements, or a decade in 3TB, or a DJ or whatever it becomes in 3TB, or.....DAMN.....it's back......

I knew it would not take long.....I hear you MAY be trying for Evans "loaner".....go for it!

BTW - I MAY make you jealous soon (if I can work it out)....shhhhhhhh.......:smug:

ohhh kayyyy... so I'm out for 3 days and you guys are only 14 pages further, eh? no good... I guess the Doug-Markus Steam Team was to be out too, he he.

Alrightey then, time for a dougwave!

working on it right no my friend...been way too busy working (late days/evenings) the past few days...back home now....yippee!!!

catch the wave....

I really love the Trans Blue....

Would be nice to see that color combo available here.

you CAN get that...just not on a Skyline....and it is such a sweet color......Maybe this could be the 2010 color of the year???

have to think about that.....

that or scotchy goodness with black blocks....

there I go again...daydreaming...sorry folks!
