LAKLAND OWNERS GROUP #25

send her an e-mail and let her envy to death!

Love to!

Speaking of ladies playing Laklands, I saw the Adrian Belew Power Trio last week here on Cape Cod. This is Adrian (from King Crimson & elsewhere) playing with a brother-sister duo only. The sister was named Julie Slick and she played a Lakland. She absolutely blew me away! What a fantastic player. I guess that she and her brother were original members of the real School of Rock. They both look to be in their late 20's or so. I loved watching her all night!

Whoops, speaking of the last thread...and keep in mind that the thread lasted only seven days...

I like to think of the count this way: Most of us posted at our usual rate, while a few just went batsh-- crazy.:D

Yep! She is one hell of a player! She's on TB too!

Just ran across these photos from my wife and my trip to Chicago last fall. She let me drag her down to the Lakland shop and she even had a good time talking with Brian while I had an even better time rocking this LPB US Decade and a couple of DJ's. The trip, the people and the basses sold me on Lakland for life. Thought you guys might be interested though they aren't great pictures

Hey Kaiser, I took the liberty of quoting your post in the new thread.:) That's cool! People who are able to visit the place seem to come away with a Lakie sooner or later, heh. I didn't get to see that LPB Decade in person, but I've seen one (probably the same one) on the website of a local music store--it looks incredible. I guess that trip sold you on DJs, Chis and LPB, too. Post that bass again, please, it's one of my favorites.:D

Hey guys,

Proud LOG member here. My only Lakland is a beautiful one-of-a-kind Jerry Scheff Fretless....

Lakland-Scheff-Fretless.jpg

It's stamped "JS10" on the headstock. According to Dan Lakin (from the LOG forum):

"Bass was made in later 2005. I had it here as a demo until I sold it in June of 2006. It is the only fretless Scheff ever made. I hope you enjoy it! I hated to see it go"

I also heard from Lakland that they used to take this bass to NAMM, and Tal Wilkenfeld played it once. I imagine she played it a lot better than I ever will!

SWEET, very beautiful!

i think i had 2 posts...way too many. here's my 1 post for part 25.

Yeah with some 5000 total posts there I figure shifting the Lakland attention to the LOG site would be a good thing. :D

I've tried a couple things.... the MASSIVE link in my signature, the initial unveiling of the finished BG5 proto was LOG only, as well as trying to reference it in conversations here as I can..... It seems like we are creatures of habit, and we just need to WILL ourselves to post there. And on a possibly related note, it tends to run slow for me (page loading, etc.)
