Cool, I guess it's an option that's not spoke of often then.


D@MN, now I have another cool option to build GAS for...

a 35" scale BEAD mid 50s style Tele bass, 3TB ash w/ vintage tinted BEM fretboard .

Yeeeeeeeaaaah.

Only had a chance to play it for about a half hour, but man, this thing is great.

With both pickups selected and everything dimed, the sound is absolutely massive, especially in the lows, yet retains insane amounts of clarity. Perfect blend of vintage warmth with tight, crisp, modern clarity.

Gonna at least use it for soundcheck tomorrow, see how it sits in the mix.

As far as I know, this is the only 35" Lakland 4 string.

The necks are probably the same size and length, but the fretboard is fretted and dotted for 35" scale. Carl never told me how the neck came to be, since (I believe) they get their necks from an outside source nowadays. He may have built it from scratch like in the early days. I'll ask him next time I give him a call.

I though Ben Kenny had at least one.

Yeah they did! Honestly the only time I've been able to see the seam for the book-matching is with the flash from my camera.

If you have not been at the LOG sitr (Link Removed) lately:

1) updated LOG CD info
2) LOG bass info
3) the "ultimate" short scale Decade
4) A REALLY cool Decade Extended Series bass
5) A picture of "Eddie"....who is Eddie? find out on the LOG.

Hillsong United is based out of Aussie land right???

they have alot of AWSOME musicians and singers in that band....and the 2 female singers are cute...all a good thing!

I don't think they get paid an outrageous amount, and I'm pretty sure they got good deals etc.

Because it was MIJ-night we kicked off the night with the Pokemon theme song (which was super fun) and later on we did "No Reason to Hide" Hillsong United which has a really fun bassline, and then "All I Need is You" another United song

Oh great, I recalled that horror just this morning

I'll have to make new ones since someone stole the memory card from my phone when it was passing the 9 circles of hell of repairsI think I can grab them from the DVD! It won't have the cheesy 3/4th length jacket sleeves though (I had them elongated before the show)

But the sprakly silver gray shirt wasn't on that night so I'll need to take pics anyway

Those are J CS's....according to Leo....why would they route it for CS casings and put regular Js in there???

Doug... you are all kinds of "great" my friend!! But I was at Firehouse Subs w/ my daughter, and even though she's seen me boohoo, I don't like to do it in public. Big ugly dude crying... not a pretty site .
