The necks are probably the same size and length, but the fretboard is fretted and dotted for 35" scale. Carl never told me how the neck came to be, since (I believe) they get their necks from an outside source nowadays. He may have built it from scratch like in the early days. I'll ask him next time I give him a call.

just to clear something up, the red one from ebay, they were out of the chi's and decided to put regular jazz pups underneath the chi casings.
i remember the story from that one.

but yours has jazz chi's:)

Hey Guys,

Question from a soon-to-be first-time Lakland owner.
My 55-02 Deluxe three tone sunburst w/rosewood neck ships later this week.

A big step for me after owning A Musicman Stingray 5 and a couple of Bongos. Looking forward to it!

So...help a newbie out...how do I get a member #? If I'm in the wrong spot, please give me a nudge to the right one, thanks!

Ok Matty, I never heard that story.
Given the fact that those are not actual Chis.....Isn't that price kinda high? :eyebrow:
