Dude, I just read your sig. Sorry to hear about the loss of your sweet bass. I live *way* too far away to ever see the axe or any sort of clues, btu you have my sincere condolences... and my hopes that you will find the bastard and break his knees.

Or was that my ghetto-assed upbringing coming out?

Thanks for the thoughts. Fortunately for me, it was not my bass. It belonged to a friend of mine here in LA. I'm just doing my bit to raise awareness. I think whoever took it will face such bad karma throughout the rest of their life that it will be a far worse and longer lasting punishment that crackin' his knees. Plus, if I miss his knee, he'll likely kick my a$$.

There has been no sign of the bass whatsoever.:crying:

Okay *somebody* on this thread once bought a tiny bass for his daughter or something. I've been scouring the threads all morning looking for it so's I can prove a point in an argument. Who bought it, and what was it?

He did! I bought a short scale pink SX PJ for my 7 year old daughter too. I just strung it with Chromes a couple days ago because she asked for those "soft" strings:-)

So it's Spring Break here next week. Our kids are going to spend some time a Music Camp. My daughter (who plays flute in an award winning Middle School band as well as takes piano lessons at the music school where the camp is being held) and my son (who plays drums in a different, non-competitive band at the same school) were told they could pick whatever instrument they want to play at Music Camp. My son chose drums. Any guess what my daughter picked? Ukelele! Yeah!:bassist:

Just kidding. She wants to play bass! Better start saving for that short-scale Decade...:hyper:

(note: Ukelele depicted in rocking bassist emoticon is actual size)

Thanks cool! She really needs one of these!

I played one...such a blast!

Woot! Very cool, Gus. Hey, the two of them could end up being the next Julie and Eric Slick, you never know!

I know...killer thing to take on vacation.

I dunno... $400?!? If I'm lookin for a compact fretless, upright wanabee... I'll stick with my Ashbory. More compact, more durable, essentially the same sound (same pickup style, and similar strings), more range, and of course can be found for far less than half that price.

Only bonus I see with the u-bass is better acoustic projection. However, I also feel the size of it affects the tone in a negative way. Too small to effectively resonate the tones it's meant to produce. Sounds a bit choked and boxy to me because of that.
