Nah. I need an aggressive four string, and in time it will be a bongo. But I have no GAS. My needs are nowhere near it at the moment.

I am cured of my GAS, but saving up for the future. When I turn 17 i will be getting myself a non-lakland (not bongo) as a graduation reward to myself. Maybe earlier if I grab a scholarship to berklee.

And you forgot that i'm the sound tech for assemblies, theatre productions, and extracurricular events.

Should I email him now? Or wait until it get's a little closer to the the delivery date? (Or even after he cashes our deposit checks ) I don't want to bug them, I'm sure they have more important things to do than

I already have a 5 string active with rounds and a jazz with flats (that the LOG will be replacing) so I would like to stick with flats on this one. Of course, if I could get it all set up with flats to start with that would be ideal...

After further review...and a few surprises, I will be going to Florida State most likely.

It's got the 3rd Largest music program, behind Full Sail and Berklee.

It's also public, so much cheaper.

Lakland owners group part 42 ?!?!? FFS the current thread was hard to find.

I think the fact there are 42,000-odd posts on laklands in, what, 3 years, justifies it's own sub-forum I would have thought. Has anyone asked the mods about this ?

A VERY versatile bass!!! A fretless one is very nice....I have had a fretless 44-02 and now have a fretless 55-94...sweetness is too moderate a word...

Just realised what a fantastic versatile instrument I have in my Lakie 55-94.

Despite my love of fretless, if I had to have just one bass I think it would be my fretted 55-94 strung with Labella flats (B-G). Though I might de-fret it, if that were the case.

I think I have to get a fretless 55-94 or 55-02 into my life.

Give this a fretless, unlined, fingerboard in ebony and you wouldn't be able to stop me getting one ....

Playing my first "show" tonight with the official lineup of the band. It's just an open mic, but I'm still super pumped.

It's taking place at the UNH mub, whatever that is, but I guess there's pretty good turnouts there. Wish me luck!

as far as I know...all Lakie strings are custom made for Lakland by GHS.

GHS definitely makes Lakland's strings but I don't know if they're the same as the GHS flats, I've never used those. But the JO's have that classic old school thump with a nice midrange. They also have great tension, not too stiff and not floppy at all like the TI's.

I had the chance today (well, technically yesterday, but you get the point) to play a US Lakland for the first time. I was COMPLETELY blown away. I played both a 55-94 and a US Decade (passive) and both sounded and played absolutely phenomenally.

I've always wanted to try a decade, and I was not at all disappointed when I picked it up. The neck felt amazing, and the chi-sonics absolutely sung!

I'm not normally a 5 string player, so the neck on the 55-94 was a bit wide for my tastes, but I know that if a played 5 normally, it would be every bit as amazing as the neck on the Decade. And don't even get me started on the tone! Every tweak of a knob made is sound more beautiful than before, and if I had an extra couple grand laying around, I would be ordering a 44-94 right now.
