LAKLAND OWNERS GROUP #42

Something interesting happened in church today; our bass player was sounding righteous (as usual) on his Fender Deluxe 5, I let him run an extended vamp on my 55-02 through his GB Shuttle-Max 6.0 and he grooved to a new level. Afterward, he said his 55-94 feels loose in comparison, that's why he doesn't play it. We use the same strings, so I'm wondering if maybe it's the density of his Lakland's neck that he's not bonding with. What do you guys think?

He's been playing a lot longer than me and his bass collection is larger than mine* so I take his word for it that he feels a difference, but I've seen him play most of his basses; I've never seen him play his Lakland.

*Includes Warrior, Roscoe, Fender, Pedulla.

My fiance's ex works at UPS, they all smoke weed like crazy there!! They call themselves the United Pot Smokers :rollno:.

When he says "feel loose" does he mean the sound feels loose (not a tight sound) or the neck/body doesn't feel solid to him?

So, I've been calling my CAR Duck Dunn body w/ Bob Glaub neck my "Dob Glunn". If you say that quickly, it sounds like Goblin. So, I think that's what I'll cal her "Goblin". What do you guys think?

Also, the Dunlop nickels that Markus recommended are fantastic! The muddy chords in the higher register is no longer a problem. Can't wait to try the bass and strings w/ my bands. :bassist:

Just bought another set. Those strings are really so good! I can barely stand running anything else.
