The new DDunn gets a home on the wall of fame next to his fretless cousin, until rehearsal this week of course.

The new DJ is the 44-75.. not a fan
+1, though I'm willing to admit that I might just have to get used to it... *if* it's got the same sound as the DJ did.
I'm not diggin the DJ!
¿That's the new DJ? OMG, I'm really dissapointed.

I like it!:spit: (And dang, Markus posted the design how many months ago? I'm sure most of you saw it then.) I'll admit, I liked the original DJ more, but I thought they changed it in a fairly tasteful way.

just wondering, is a 55-02 really a true 35" if you string thru bridge?

All that matters is the measurement from where the ring rests on the saddle to where the string goes through the nut. After the saddle, it can run all the way around the bass again and the scale length wouldn't change. The through-body really only comes into play when buying strings. Through-body ones MUST be Extra Long Scale (or DR's.).

And yes. It really is 35". On my 55-02, it is actually a little over that.

Oooh, sweet! Firemist gold, that's a great call. Congrats, Ian!

Hey dudes - just couldn't wait to post this. Leo just snapped this pic for me. In the mail as we speak . . .

It 'could' sound as good, but it will never be as cool.

I'm not diggin the DJ!

Nope.

I concur, but it's not EVEN a DJ.

I motion we stop referring to this as "The New DJ" as it's only what's filling the void in which the DJ reigned for years.

It's more of a Mustang than anything really. Let's hope it sells well, but it will NEVER replace the mighty DJ!

I second that motion.

Honestly, I think the P/G kills the shape...I think i'd like it if they re-did the guard so it flowed better instead of trainwrecking into the upper horn.

I'm going to be part of this club on Friday! I'm really excited, I've only ever played the Skyline 4-94, and L O V E D it. Now I have a ''limited run'' model (apparently) from 1999. Actually, does anyone have any info on it?

I tried calling Lakland and haven't heard back, 3 messages later :( In fairness someone did call me today regarding a message I left 4 days ago, but I couldn't talk, I was rounding. Told him I'd call back in 20 minutes, but alas no response. Anyway, excited about the bass, anyone with info? :D
