Thanks for the reply, beginning to think I'll need to paint the plate and then get some black graphtech or similar saddles, to complete the look.

I did find this rarity on [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Don't paint it. See about getting it anodised or something similar. *Someone* at TB did it, but I can't for the life of me remember who it was...

Are the Protos more expensive than the straight-up LOG basses? I'd go check 'em out, but I'm iPhoning rather than computering at the moment...

Good price. It was listed at 1160, and it had the Nordy pups. I say "had" because...it was sold. Darn no website updatin' varmints. ;-)

I'd buy that one listed on the LOG too! It's already set up and ready to go...

As for the one up FS, it's a beauty, but I can't take the maple/black block FB. The rosewood/white pearl block one is what was turning me right now. So, I'll just pine away for a 5'er Glaub P/J, like the 4 string in this awesome trio (from Lakland's FaceBook photos):

Curiosity question for folks who know refinishing...sometimes I think the cherry burst is too red, too light. Is refinishing easier (i.e., potentially less expensive) if it involves tinting and darkening? Maybe to black cherry cola burst?

I suppose we all have that perfect color scheme in our minds. However having owned a 55-02 CherryBurst w/Maple, I found the color is difficult to photo and reveal the true color. However and in person, the translucent red color is very rich.

That being said, I'd recommend no alterations be made. In the event something such as a bad ding or gouge, then consider other options at that time.

Looks pretty close to my Mai Tai Burst that Pat Painted for me. Almost positive that your bass will have to be stripped and fully redone to make it darker.

Like I said, it was just a curiosity question. I don't really see myself having any bass refinished.

Yes. Red is a very difficult color to digitally photograph. Beyond that, personally, I'm red-green colorblind, so I may be seeing something different from most other people.

That said, I do like it. I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't like it. Sometimes I think it would be nice if it were darker and a less saturated red...just musing.
