And here are the two Glaubs with my current combo of choice. It's an early 80's Musicman 115B. I use a Sansamp DI in front of it.

So who here is going to the Dan Lakin opening? I am not local and can't get out but I just saw he posted that there will be free old school Lakland brochures, magazines, etc. I would REALLY like to have some of that especially the old brochures with Skyline stuff. I had been collecting information about Skylines awhile back and would like to get that going again. So if anyone is kind enough to pick me up some of that stuff and maybe a Bass Player magazine or two I will pay for the trouble and shipping. Can anyone help out?

Dead on with this one. Frank is a great player and a cool guy. He played some tunes from his new CD and it's a must listen! Great stuff with a lot of Miles Davis' bandmates playing along. It was was pretty sweet, as we got to hang with him and Norm Stockton for awhile and got to chat easily. Great clinic.
My Franken-Glaub and it's two cousins.
From left to right:
- '71 Jazz. After trying lots of different strings without finding the right one I tried a set of Rotosound 77 flats which I never liked on any of the basses I've tried them on. But this was a match made in heaven - the strings really complements the bass.
- The Franken-Glaub "Misty" as it was called by a former owner. I've just installed East P-retro and changed the strings to Sunbeams. This combined with a D-tuner makes this a super-versatile bass. This is my new number one bass.
- '79 Precision. A boat anchor, but a good sounding boat anchor. Strung with Pyramid flats. I have over the years tried probably 20 different sets of strings on this one. The Pyramids are the right ones for this, and they're never coming off again.
These three basses are the three I'll never sell - the P-bass because it was my first (and for over 15 years my only) bass; the Jazz because it is from my birth year, and is a really light and great bass; the Glaub because it is one of the best basses I've ever tried.

Please take more pics of Misty in the Norwegian scenery...I REALLY miss Norway. I keep trying to get transferred to Stavanger.
