Never played for God before, hope He doesnt mind if I screw up a few notes...

Lol, I know not everyone in the LOG are believers, and I'm totally cool w/ that... to each his/her own, I love my Lakland-lover brethren no matter what their beliefs.... except Democrats!!! They should DIE!!! Just kidding HAHA.

But---- it's my belief that every note we play is for God. He/She is a music lover IMO and I am grateful for my talents.... and striking GOOD looks of course. Cause I am DEAD SEXY BABY, YEAH!!!

Could someone here give me an opinion about the ground issue in this link? I can't get a call back from Lakland so that I can get the DC resistance spec to be sure about the pup and I need to get this fixed ASAP. I'm almost positive that the neck pickup is bad. Tried a fresh battery with no luck. With the strings off, when my fingers get closer to the pickup, the buzzing gets louder. When I touch the bridge, it stops. I have put fresh solders everywhere and checked the bridge ground. I've never had a pup go bad before so this is new territory. Any other input?

Hotties as in girls...derrr.

What little I have been playing them, I like like em just fine.
The super thin neck profile on the 44-07 and Scheff are flippin fantastic!!
Those two have the best neck profile of any basses I have EVER played.
Super thin, smooth and fast ass &^%#@!!!

I Still think I am a fan of active basses much more so than passive.
Passive basses just lack the in your face KAPOWIE of active.

I actually had a brief moment of thought about letting go of the US one of firemist passive single coil chi Decade AND the US one of sonic blue DJ with passive bucker chi's and BEM board and using the $4,000 to order this SWEEEEEET active 44-94 in drop dead custom Buckeye Burl top! I Love that thing, WOW!

BUT?
I also love the looks of my Decade and DJ.
And the fact they both are one of basses makes it really hard to make this move. So even though I am gassin for that Buckeye bass, most likely will sit tight and take a tums and chillax LOL

I hear ya on the passive active thing, that's why I put a P-retro in my P-bass.

I would contact BC and talk to Beaver or Grasshopper to see if that bass is still available if your GAS'n for it. Sometimes what's pictured on the site is not available, they don't tend to update regularly. Good guys to deal with and have bought a few basses from BC. Make sure you let Beaver know you're a TB member, he usually gives a small discount for being a member.

Sounds like a similar issue I had with my 44-02 with the LH3 system. Couple of questions:

1. Does the hum/buzz go away when you pan just to the bridge pickup?

2. Does the hum/buzz go away when you switch into passive?

These are a couple of symptoms mine had. I sent it to Lakland as it was under warranty and they repaired it, siting a minor grounding issue with the neck pickup.

yea I hear ya.
Had that happen to me before with them.
Would for sure put it on hold with a deposit, IF I decided to be nuts and do it.
Kinda doubt it.
These two on off Lakies are VERY special basses

I went to put a stock mint guard on my Skyline Glaub (only to find out it wasn't a Skyline guard but that is another story) so I shot a few shots under the guard.

Here is is prior to the work. As you see my wood counter is also my work space.

Here is the pot area. Shielding was added by Lakland when they did the Darkstar install. You can see there is a phase switch still installed. I should get rid of it at some point but for now it's not hurting anything. As you can see it's marked LPB from the factory.

Here is what the routing for the Darkstar looked like. Very minor but when it went back to a Fralin, some extra wood had to be added underneath as the Darkstar requires extra depth. Very clean work overall.

You can also see that the white guard must have required some new holes to be drilled (even though it is a Jeannie's guard). To sum up...does anyone have a mint color Skyline Glaub guard?

Out of warranty, darn it all to #&^%! Glad I could possibly shed some light on what may be going on. I didn't get much in the way of an explanation, just that it was a minor grounding issue. But, given that it seems to go away when you switch into passive mode, I might be inclined to take a look at the connections on the LH3 board. Just a thought.

Hehe, steady on, Dan! Hands on the rudder, stay the course and all that. It's difficult, if I have one practce where I'm not terribly happy with a particular piece of gear, I start dreaming of alternatives. Usually, the next practice takes care of that, though.

For me, passive basses just do the trick. I feel as if they're more touch-sensitive, whereas pres feel like they're holding me back some. But different strokes and all that...

That's a bummer! Have you tried to call Leo? He's usually the most responsive by phone.

I just spoke with Brian, he said that he would make sure that one of the techs would call me today. The crappy thing is that I contacted the previous owner and he said that he upgraded it from the Barts to the LH3 8 or 9 months ago. Because I'm not the original purchaser, warranty won't cover it. I'd rather have the Barts...

The funny thing about this whole thing is I had forgotten how much I enjoy working on basses, not guitars, but basses only.
