Thanks for the watches and comments guys. @ Natew42 on the wall and stands behind me are a couple squires, a Frudua, and I also have 3 more skylines, a 44-02 deluxe cherry burst, a JO LTD inca silver, and a 3TSB JO5.

@holdsg, some of it. I use a pre made midi file ( I think they may be old karaoke files because some are really well made) and run that into the kronos. In some cases I replay complete parts, in others just tweak em a little. This one had a real person playing the rhodes and piano parts, real drummer, real bass and singer. The rest is all robot, direct from the midi file.

Yep, was eyeballing some the other day there.
I think these Laklands ruined me?
The necks are unreal.
Now whenever I play my other basses the neck profiles are as good of a fit to me anymore.
The US Scheff and 44-07 are truly a dream to play.

Love it! Really smooth playing, lotta position changes for your left hand but you make it look easy - you clearly know your stuff!

Also, LOVED the fact that as the song went on your head moved to the beat more and more - that was fun to watch!

I'm the same, too. It can be quite funny in church some sundays - all the singers are quite self-conscious, so they're completely static. Drummer and keyboardist just sit there expressionless. And then, riiiight at the end of the stage, there's me, groovin' away, and ciaran our guitarist, both of us in the classic pose, one leg on the monitor, heads bopping as we flail away. :bassist::bassist:

Stage right is the fun place to play!

Each time you look into the camera, it's obvious you nailed it! The slight grin at the very end proves you did your thing and were satisfied - as we all were!

You guys are awesome. Thanks so much for the encouraging comments. As far as making it look easy, well....... If it does, i'm putting on a good game face, that riff kicks my butt. I'm totally self taught and all those notes in that little space are really hard for me to play. My tea cup pinky is really evident in this and I cringe when I see it.

I gotta say I love my Laklands. Every one of them is a pleasure to play. I had a growing collection of lower end bass's figuring it'd be fun to mod and upgrade them. That was fun for a while, but took me away from what I really love about the bass, playing it.

My first Lakland was my JO LTD. It was a little out of whack from it's shipping ride, after a couple calls to Lakland my local tech got it tamed and it plays like a dream. The Glaub I'm playing in this vid is a tone beast. It just JUMPS off the speakers. my 44-02 is my gig bass when I want something sexy, light, and lots of tonal variety, and the JO5 I recently got here on TB is just amazing.

BTW, 3 of my 4 Skylines were bought right here on TB, and each owner gave a fair price and was great to deal with. The basses are tops and so are the players.

Keep the pix coming, I love looking at and slobbering over all the different examples. I'm hoping to nab a skyline hollow body some time soon.

Yeah, it's an old bad habit. The pinky on my left hand fly's out because of my horrible technique. I cal it "teacup" pinky because of that old thing about properly drinking tea heh.
I actually have really bad dexterity. I can't make the Star Trek hand thingy without separating my fingers with my other hand lol.

It gets in the way of playing runs and stuff to, I use my ring finger too much for fretting. I try to practice but don't have the discipline and wind up jamming instead.

Oh, I get ya. I used to run thru Billy Sheehan's left hand dexterity exercises occasionally. But, the main thing that helped me to use my pinky more was playing songs that demanded it. I'm all about songs and get bored w/ practicing technique.
