Well lets see?
Before I picked up that US Decade, US Hollowbody and that US Darryl Jones, I had a grand total of....ummm NONE.
ALL my collection was Active.

Now I have those 3 passives.
And if I go with that DPLEII bass it makes 4.
whoa! not my norm.

Honestly, I do not think of the Dual Dark star HB.
That thing is MASSIVE!!!
And has more stones than most of the actives I have honestly.
I love that thing so much, I would love another US HB.
Especially that olympic White one at bass central.
But it is just too too tooooooooo expensive :( sigh :bawl:

Hey guys, is the hex wrench for the truss rod the same size on Skylines and US Laklands, 5/64? Just don't want to grind down a bunch of wrenches looking for the right size. Oh, and pics of the natural/maple BG to come.

Skylines are metric, US are...english. If you watch Carl P's 'setting up the bass' vids from the Lakland site, he calls out the sizes for both.

The Big Lakowsky is complete. Only partially tested ( passive only ) and that's pretty f'n nice. Need to clean it up a little before unveiling.

Never have I heard of a painted headstock coming off perfectly in a laminated sheet with heat. Anyone that has stripped a bass can tell you that isn't common. And if heat could do that then why would it not be more common on any modern instruments. Kevin is a really knowledgable guy with TONS of experience with everything from vintage to modern basses. I am not saying JP's lying but isn't it possible that if it was done at least on this one bass that they don't know about it? They went for years without knowing the 5 string Skylines had graphite reinforcement.

I thought it was a bit odd too.
I mean paint? coming off in one slab? due to heat in transit?
hmmmmmmmmmm freeeeeky :eyebrow:
I guess? Anything CAN maybe happen? maybe?

But that said.
I am buying the DPLEII anywayz :D :D :D
Worked out the deal with the private seller. It is being held for me for a few days till my buyer finishes paying me up for the Stingray Stealth he just bought from me.
So I would guess maybe by mid week next week, it will have arrived and been road tested with my Mesa rig! SWEET!! :D
Another Lakland addition to the growing lil family.
