My new Glaub CS arrived. The pickup is single coil and sounds super growly vs. the punchy Pbass sound. I put some medium Fender flats on it, which sound perfect with the pickup. Taking this out on tour tomorrow.

Freshly restrung. This bass has forced me to revisit many aspects of my technique. So far so good!![]()
barts - check
quilty burst - check
new strings - check
no frets - check
that's a great checklist
Thanks! I think so.Still new to lakland and also the higher end of bass quality. This is my first "botique" bass. Ive been playing for almost 20 years but this thing is an eye opener.
*biting my tongue*

So I go to a music store over lunch, I had to get out of the office. I pick up a few basses to try, Warwick, Fender, Spector, and an "F" Bass. None of them come close to the feel or tone of my Laklands. This is not the first time that I have touched another brand since buying my Lakies. Yes, I am a blasphemer. Here is the funny thing. Since buying my Laklands almost 6 months ago, I have wanted and desired to play more. I have never had a bass that made me want rearrange my schedule so that I can practice...It's a magical thing.
It was a true "F" Bass. The sound was nice, but the ergonomics and shape was horrible. I'm just very critical of the basses that I play.
uh, I think he was talking F---er, not F-bass, diff animals completely.
unless that was a joke, in that case, LOLOLOL
then paint me "corrected"... or else I could read your entire post next time (sorry).
No worries, some people still can't believe that I prefer Ferrari over Lamborghini..."F" Bass is an odd name.
PS: I'd take an Aston Martin over a Ferrari *or* a Lamborghini any day.
Hey laklanders, if I wanted to add a VTC to my 4-94 that is usable in both active and passive modes, what type of pot would need to be added? I'm pretty clueless about this stuff, so I would have a tech do it for me. I just want to have as much info as possible before I take the plunge.

I put my Decade up for sale. I just am not bonding with it at all. It sounds great but I am just not comfortable on it. If someone is interested let me know and we can work out a LOG discount.
Or if someone wants the Decade AND a rare LPB Skyline Glaub with Jazz neck I would trade both for a US Glaub.
WOW! Sorry man....hope you can find that US Glaub you want....
also cannot believe the Proto BG5er is up!

A couple nice looking black P's showing up lately. I'm Black Bart and I approve of these basses![]()
So I walked in to Premier Bass here in Colorado today just to look around and play a couple of basses. They have an Inca silver Skyline Duck Dunn, and I've never liked that particular color. I''ve also yet to bond with a P-bass, and tend to prefer active basses, so I was a little skeptical. I've always wondered about the Duck Dunn model, though, so I gave it a try. Long story short, Dan is ordering me one in CAR.![]()
