So the Glaub have been busy all week, and wow this bass is just pure love.. Amazing.

My girlfriend is going to NYC next week, and i'm going to ask her if she could pick up some sets of Lakland flats for me. Does anyone know where they are available, and where they most likely have them in stock?

I don't know for certain... But, I think the answer rests just above our post.

Sorry guys - as much as I'd have loved to have it, it wasn't me. My budget isn't allowing for new basses right now.....car repairs loom in my near foreseeable future.

But if anyone would like to donate their older, gently used, under-utilized, forlorn, and lonely Laklands to me, just PM and I'll give you my address. :D

New family photo, newest addition is the 55-01 at the end of the line, totally digging it. All Skylines.

over the last couple years these have replaced a collection of popular inexpensive instruments. While those bass's did their job, they don't hold a candle to these. I love and play each and every one of them all the time. It's really hard to favor just one, depending on the song or my mood, they all have something great to offer.

When I play out, I grab the 44-02 and the 44-60 because I'm the most comfortable on them having owned em the longest. The 5 strings are slowly creeping in as the go to's though.

How much output difference is there between the 44-02 and the 44-60? Is the 44-02 considerably louder?

The 44-60 is actually really loud, at least mine is, I can't remember if the 44-02 was louder than it but I did adjust the output trim on it when I first got it because it was overloading the input on my audio interface really easy. If I have to compensate between the 2 when I play live I don't really notice it. I run the jazz full open mostly, and the 44-02 is turned down just a tad.

My post is a little misleading, I generally take one or the other rather than both, I have taken more than one a few times but it gets to be a hassle with the rest of the gear. Plus with the variety I have, it's fun to make the "wrong" one into the right one. Meaning adjust the amp etc to get wheat I want.

Sorry, that question is a tough one. Your best bet is to contact Lakland dealers in NYC and ask them. Here's the dealer list:

Great collection! I love the inca J.

I'm not surprised at your answer to the volume question, Hanson's passive pickups are pretty loud.

Can you please check the serial number for us? The way you mentioned originally it sounded like a used bass, but it looks like a new one. It puzzles me how GC got their hands into a new model before the "real" Lakland dealers.
I did buy it used. Will post S/N when I get home tonight.

Cool bassists play amber axes.

I'm just sayin'...

I already have an amber. I wouldn't say no to another. :D

Or a black one. Or blue. Blue would be nice. Or green. I don't have a green bass yet. I don't have a silver one either....... See - now you've got me going again. This will require finding a cool bass place in Toronto to visit this weekend sometime between the Museum of Shoes and tomorrow night's concert.

Clubbass [.] ca is your friend.

A blue one would be rockalicious.

Naw not all THAT Lucky.
But no complaints I guess.
Just buy as new or mint gear....keep it that way and then sell it for fair pricing. Simple.

Thanks Doude! And welcome home to you as well.
Take a few days and catch your breath before the next road trip.

will do....not sure when the next trip will be...at least a week for sure...things are strating to heat up! a good thing as I got some "bills" due soon :ninja:

I have them on one of my non-Laklands. They've been on about a month and gotten about an hour of play a day on average. They still sound bright and hold the sustain, but the tension loosened up some. I love the sound, but struggled with the tension early. For style comparison - I'm a beginner player doing mostly technique exercises, scale drills, and classic rock songs. No slap, pop, or super jazzy fun to watch OMG how did they do THAT playing for me.

you may get to try some "new" lower tension strings soon...:ninja: wathc the mail box.... :D

Okay, I'll bite: who'd you sell it to?

I agree. Tat? is that you?

huh.... You talkin to me?

maybe....:D are you so vain?

I don't know for certain... But, I think the answer rests just above our post.

I am thinking that....but....

Nope, different person.

...I guess not...:eyebrow:

Dude, if I have to get my ninjas out...

LOL!!! :ninja::ninja::ninja::ninja::ninja:

hahahaha!!! too funny man. :D
It did not sell to anyone who frequents this thread.

But I will for sure let her know she should.
Due to the antics and fun we all have here. :hyper:

Oh yeah and knowledge of course as well.

yup...get her hook'd

Knowledge. Totally. Of course...

Knowledge "here"....mindless posting and fun "elsewhere on the net"...:D

Nice! Those LEs turned out awesome!

you are right! I did not catch that the first time! thought it was a neat top but did not catch the flame!!! that is gorgeous!

I love the flame. The burst is darker at the edges than I was expecting, though.

....and? is that 'good" or "bad"????:eyebrow:

Wow. The fact that it's an LE is news to me. I bought it used thinking it was a regular 55-02!

Purchase thread: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/n55-02d-878698/

Thanks for the info!

so...see? always a surprise!

Lublin,congrats on the new bass!!!

yupper!

you can buy strings from Lakland directly....email [email protected] for pricing etc....warning...flats are popular and are often out of stock....

1) sorry Tat!

2)....man...you are hillarious!!!! :D I have several "gently used" basses but sorry...they all are staying put!

Black is, of course, my preference, but since beggars can't be choosers, I would graciously accept and appreciate donations in any color. :D

yup....I guess...:D

WOWSA!!! what a sweet collection! nice to hear that they replaced "upper end" basses....they are good at that!

the fviers will grow on you..really....they are my favorite now!

I'd answer you, but I'm far too busy being cool over here with my amber bass

so....color is NOT an issue? sounds like any color will do ya! don't buy one in Toronto....will cost you too much to get across the border...and the exchange rate is not good right now...

what concert ya going to????

Wow! You really lucked out. It is a brand new flame LE. The first one to appear. I wonder what crazy cat sold it to GC. Congrats!

wow.....I wonder what happened???? that is REALLY wierd! these JUST came out.....
