I want to try to book enough work in Chi-town this summer so I can come check out Lakieland.
And of course eat some famous Chicago pizza, and knock back some pints with the local Lakland tour guides!

My brother and I have been tentatively planning a trip to Chicago for awhile now...hope it happens soon, I'd love to tour the shop.

Does anyone here play a fretless 55-94??? I've never played fretless before and wondered how they sounded compared to the traditional Stingray or Jazz fretless....

Is Ginos East still the top place to go?

I'be been toying around with selling/trading my 44-02D with the Barts for a white DJ4 or selling the 44 with the Barts and the 55-02d to buy a 44-94. Blasted GAS.

It's funny. My 44 with the LH3 was bought as a backup to the 44 with Barts. The 44 LH3 in now my main bass. That LH3 is incredible.

If I got the Lakland logo tattooed on my forearm, I wonder if they would give me "endorsing artist" status out of sympathy....they do need someone in Houston to pedal the brand....

I want to!
Figure I can possibly teach a workshop for one day.
Offer up shoots to the public or agencies another day or two.
Maybe shoot some stuff for Lakland while I am there or Carl or whatever.
But if I book a trip, Just need be sure to "bring home the bacon" or I get hung out to dry when I get home. hahaha!! :)

I had a sweet 55-94 and recently traded it to Markus who since sold it to Leo At Lakland/Leo's gear....

They sound fantastic! lots of variability...I also have a JO5 fretless and love it BUT the 5594 can get the J-fretless sound as well as many others...never played a ray fretless so I am not sure....

I can say that you WILL NOT be dissapointed....

here is a link I like to share so people can hear the mwah factor themselves...this is a 44-94 but you can get the idea:

I like GIORDANO'S much better...Greg disagrees....Ginos is a cool place because you can carve your name in the wall etc....Lou Malnati's is also pretty good....

you can have a "different" CHicago Pizza each night for about a week and get all different tastes...it all depends if you are a sauce guy, sausage guy, or cheese guy...:D

As part of the LOG entrance exam...you were supposed to go to the Lakie web site and memorize all of the models!

The grey and red ones are the new active Skyline AJ (active jazz) basses...the teal and silver ones were from last years LE runs....pictures are a must!

LOL RE: Sell your sister. I frequently threaten to sell one of the children, but I've so far been very unlucky in finding buyers.

Ya, I'm very familiar with Rockin Robin, but they don't keep Lakies in stock, according to a long time employee, "not enough profit margin". The one that they have is a used 44-94 that they are asking $3k, WAY too much IMO.
