Haha thanks guys. Yeah I don't know that I'll be exploring any control cavity. I am completely enamored by the amount of sounds I'm able to get out of this bass. However, I'm also surprised how wide the neck is on this thing. I'm using to 4-string jazz basses. I think the last one I owned was a Geddy, and that has the neck like a guitar.
I will say this... I have never played a bass with action as low as this one. It's pretty insane. I'll take additional photos and post them.![]()
no wonder you think it is "wide"...Geddy's are pretty narrow....you will get used to it!
I think you will continue to discover the tones...55-02s are VERY versatile basses!!!!
yup....Lakland prides themselves on being able to have very low action...
In order to best hear the effect of the toggle (coil tap), solo the bridge pickup while changing the toggle position.
good idea....
...and adding some treble (at least temporarily) to open up the top end so you can hear the subtleties.
...and another! see - you asked in the right place!

what's up?, more than 24 hours in-between posts, must be a new record.
wow.....I was busy....
Huzzah! Looks even better all put together, my friend. Congrats and enjoy! I feel sorry for those "other" basses you just got.![]()
I agree....they may have to go pout in the corner.....I bet this bass turns at least one of them into a "case queen"... he he
Not my color, who knew, but that is very nice! Congrats on the new arrival.
That means one less bass in the queue so they can finish mineOnly about three months to go!!!
....but who is counting???? - OH you are!
Depends on who or what is lying there![]()
...now WAIT a cotten pickin' minute.....what are you insinuating there son!?
he he...Doude action shot...rare and far between...thank God!
