Haha. Kinda like when you see the bald guy wo his wig or someone wo their glasses.

Man'o man....missing my DB's. All I have right now to hold me over is my TC112. DB's are NIIIICE. Kinda tossing around some different ideas for replacements. But chances are, I'll prob just buy another pair. When we made the trade, I knew I could replace the speakers. Finding anothe Lakland like this at the that price would have proven to be impossible. Glad we made the deal, glad I got the Lakland, but I miss my Aggies!!

I love my DB112's and 212. Nothing quite like them. They sound great with my Streamliner 900 and TH500, though i favor the Streamliner with my active Lakies and the TH500 with my passive Lakies. However, I am gassing for a Berg CN212, NV115 or NV610...

Replacements are going to be DB112's, ML112's, or possibly a NV115. I liked the Baer's almost sealed like lowend. Also, one ML112 is pretty impressive.

I like the DB112's smoother mids (compared to the ML112). The lowend can get a tad bloomy. A used pair of DB's is what a single ML ships for. So, gotta love the price!!

If the NV were about $200-$300 for a covered-shipped NV, I would already have one. $1000 for a single cab might be too rich for me. I really want to try one. I'm going to wait to see what the word is before I committ. Give it some time.....

BUM Bum bum .. Corner of love -

Edit: Funny (to me) trivia: the priciest bass is in the cheapest bag.

I've been trying hard to keep my cab (and head) selection process out of the LOG thread.. but... the Baer stuff looks interesting. Have you looked at LDS or Schroeder?

Schroeder is on my DNBF list....pm me if you need details. LDS, I dunno? I guess I've never seen any of Don's creations that made me think "omg, I gotta have that"

I wish I could combine the things I like about the DB's and the things I like about the ML's and make "that" cab. That would be the perfect 112 IMO.

I think I have made the offer explicit, but just in case I haven't, any LOGgers interested in trying out the new NV115 is more than welcome to swing by and try mine. Only a short flight from just about anywhere.

Ok, I'd like to try it. I'm flying into Ontario tomorrow at 1:30pm. Pick me up at the baggage claim. I'm the guy that looks like me.

Oh, yeah, I moved your cheese...

wow...low post count overall.....

One more thing I would add: IF you do decide to get a fretted one and defret later, I would not get a DJ. The binding makes defretting a real pain--this comes from master Lakland luthier Carl Pedigo.

not a "pain"...a "I WON'T DO IT!".....and if HE won't do it.... ????

as for going fretless....I would get a new neck....easier, cleaner and easier to sell later....if that is the case, stay away from the DJ as well....those necks are not interchangeable with the rest.

I'll never see it. Episodes 1-3 are banned from my house. I don't expect 7 to be any better unless the cantina bands bass player is using a Lakland.

I have 1-3 on DVD for "collectors purposes only".....never really get played.

as for 7....its Disney...not expecting much....where will they work Mickey in? ( an image of Mickey is in EVERY Disney movie made)

I know i should know the answer to this question already, but who do we favour for refinishes? And how do i contact them?
I'm thinking if i can re-refinish my Decade it'll sell quicker and closer to $800.
Thoughts?

Pat Wilkins is THE man (he does Lakies US work) and is a killer refin guy:

here is his info:

PS - he is finishing up "something" as I write this...:ninja:
