Right!??
It is the coolest thing!
It has to be due to the dual Dstars loaded into the HB environment.
Those pups are fantastic in a Hobo. :bassist:

Nothing quite sounds like my DS HoBo! We should start a little sub-LOG club ;)

And while we're at it, we should start a sub-LOG club for everyone who does the Lakland/Carl prescribed neck treatment. I've been going through my basses giving them a refresh, and man! There's a reason we all rant about it!

Well guys my deal fell through for the used Lakland JO with J retro pre and Delano PUP/s......So, I'm about to place order with Brian this morning for new order! The Jazz bass I always wanted.....

Sonic Blue / swamp ash /aged white pick guard
Rosewood with white pearl blocks....standard pre and pickups

The only bad thing is 6-7 months to wait! How do you guys do it?

I have no clue what rock I've been living under, but what's the Lakland/Carl prescribed treatment?

Hey guys! I got a new Lakie 55-01 about a month ago, and it's sweet (my first 5 ever)...however, when I switch to neck pickup, it has a very low input and is distorted. I thought it may be the battery so I put a new battery in it, and it's still doing it. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks,
Shadi

You could have a bad solder joint on the blend knob. If you are handy with a soldering iron, reflow the connections. You can also contact Lakland.

Congrats! That sounds great. By "standard pre", do you mean the LH3?

So you did the treatment to your US bass too? I thought the sandpaper treatment was just to remove the satin finish in skylines....and that with US necks you just used steel wool to remove the ...err...mojo....from the back of the neck, then oiled and waxed to recondition....

I didn't know that Lakland made a US Jazz with a preamp apart from the AJ series...maybe I just superimposed you ordering a JO? Either way, it sounds sick! I'm coming around to sonic blue as a candidate to refinish Old Joe
