If you're serious about negotiating an endorsement agreement, you need to contact Lakland. It's not like any of us can wave a magic wand and poof you have a deal

Here's a thought out of the blue, adding a piezo to a 4-94. Can it be done without significantly modifying the instrument?
Not sure....there was one made as an "experiment" early on (I believe.....) in addition to the one "lightwave" experimental bass....

The price is very good....If you don't like it (doubtful) you should be able to resell it for that or more (if it is in good shape)....
A JO5 will probably be my next purchase. The only thing that I think you can legitimately argue about on a JO of any model is the pickup preference and do you want a pre or not. The JO that I had in the past, which I dearly miss, sounded wonderful with the stock Lakland/Hanson pickups and concentric V/T V/T pots. I kept it passive and upgraded it to the Hanson Chi-Sonic pickups and it was another world of wonderful, stupendous even. Why did I sell it? Because I am stupid. For $700 you are getting a great bass that you can change in many ways if you feel the need.

I agree...keep it simple to start...and a "Classic J" sounds great passive.....if you later find the need to "jack it up" with a pre-amp...we can give you suggestions....I have both an active and passive J and love them both...very different.
It would seem to be a 2011 model. It has a couple of "normal" nicks on the back from regular use but otherwise it's in perfect shape. I'm going to grab it today, right after work. I don't mind nicks as long as it's structurally perfect. I mean I've been a guitar player for a good while and my gear has some nicks. I buy gear to play it, to gig with it so I never expect perfection from a used instrument. I'm really excited about that bass, I got a good feeling about it!

So yeah, I got the Skyline Joe Osborn! More nicks than I thought, and a nice scar on the lower body, just underneath the input jack, which leads me to believe it might have been dropped (strap malfunction). It's been heavily played, that dude was probably touring with it and it shows on the body and pickguard... But the neck is perfect (straight and healthy), pots and pups are healthy, the bass sounds amazingly good to me, very different from my Yamaha. I'd say more punchy, à la Geddy Lee... I brought the price down to $600 due to the light damage - and the fact that he never mentioned the scar on the body. The action was too low (!!!) so I adjusted to my taste and bingo, here we are at sunny times. Comfortable neck, love those hipshot tuners, it sings! With a set of fresh strings, I'm pretty sure it's gonna kill. Very happy about the purchase so far. Of course, it's the honeymoon phase, so we'll see in a couple of weeks/months if it's gonna be different. Quality instrument, hardware looks pretty sturdy but like I said, it's been gigged many many times and it survived, so I'm not too worried. Again, thank you all for your comments/tips, I feel greatly welcomed on this board!!
