I use D'Addario FlexSteels Long Scale strings. I'm able to string it through the body with no problems. Plus they're not that expensive at all. Hope this helps.

The wife bought us tickets to "Evil Dead: The Musical" tonight as a birthday present. Supposed to have a live band playing the numbers. I hope the bassist is playing a Lakland.
I played with my band Wednesday night at a place in Kemah, TX. The 55-01 with the NTMB and MK1 pups sounded great. It was definitely a worthwhile upgrade.

You must have a great wife! I've want to see that musical since I heard they were making The Evil Dead into a musical. Hope you enjoy.
It was fantastic. Every seat was in the "splatter zone". I was dripping wet with stage blood at the end. If you are a fan of the Evil Dead, I highly recommend it.
No Lakland in the band. It was an Iba--z...
Man, I've owned some expensive basses in the pass, but none have put a smile on my face like my 5502 & 5501 does. Just feels like the perfect match to my hands. I was skeptical about the 35 inch, but I've gotten use to it. Now the the JO5 is a challenge for me, but the two I stated feels great. That's all! #newcarsmell

Not as fancy as those on the Lakland factory that you guys just saw, but this is my latest Lakland, a modest 44-60 JO, classic black, mint green guard, and rosewood board, I installed chrome pickup cover and 11th screw hole to get my closer to US JO, since I cannot afford one...
I never imagine would bought a jazz style gear, though I once bought a F* brand Jazz Bass, and sold it within a year, since I don't usually play single coil, nor passive, but this baby is exception, it's really fun to play, though it would never be my number one, because that spot already taken by my 44-02...hey, who could blame me right?!.
