Hey hey! Hoping everyone is doing well...here's my custom 44-75 (pre Darryl Jones model, shorter upper horn) in Kerry Green, chi humbuckers, ebony board. Matching headstock and lollipop tuners, not pictured. She's a little over a year old now. Cheers!

It is splitting hairs, I suppose. It's local- if I was in the market, I'd check it out. Something very tempting about the simplicity of a passive 4 string...

And I apologize if my post sounded "snappy"- not trying to ruffle any feathers here, even if it may be of a Packer fan ;)

Define "alot"...

The necks are very fast and extremely comfortable....( probably the biggest difference between skylines and us models are the necks.... Qtr sawn vs flat sawn).

The fret boards tend to be nicer wood... With real wood dots or real mop/ abalone blocks....

You can get your choice of woods, tops, and colors.

The US models tend to be a bit lighter... But not always... Yours is very light.

The electronics are the same...

I would never give up my us lakies .... But I also have several skylines I love...

Wahoo... Congrats!

There were 3 potential choices:

Neopunch: bright high end... Very modern... not much experience with it ( yet,)

Nordy: bright as well but less so than the neo...I have a nordy on one of my us 5564s

Hanson vintage: if you know what a fralin sounds like... This is it... Nice mids and very full sounding... I have the vintage pickups on my LOG bass and the vintage P/J set in another US 5564.

Should I send the skyline back and get a USA. The Classic series seems to be a bargain At $2180 compared to $3200 for a JO . So really is it a $1000 better guitar. I am quite impressed with the Skyline that the Classic should be perfect as there is not much wrong with the Skyline, my neck is super smooth, nice low action with no buzz and my comments from before. Plus I loose the block and binding that is on the custom. Just seems I may have received a very nice example of a skyline. I know about the neck difference but same electronics, aka same tone. Nice tight pots. I feel this a is nicer bass then a USA Fender Standard.
