When I was looking for information on Shorline and Japan Skyline lines I got absolutely the same information about those models. So, I decided to buy a Shoreline and am not disappointed.

Hi folks. Been 10 years since I posted on TB. Time flys. Here's an after movie of the band I'm working in Austin TX. Playing my 2004 Hollowbody. It's a little bloomy in the room but there are lots of studio cuts on our website. I've been gigging that bass in New Orleans and Austin with blues, funk and latin bands. Most recently rotating my HB30 with this Psychedelic Cumbia band. El Combo Oscuro – Cumbia Psicodelica
@NOLABASS 2 words I never thought I'd see together Psychodelic and Cumbia. well, now I've seen everthing.
and after listenting to the demo and the exerpts on the website, that's some seriously cool stuff right there.
I don't know whether I'd rather play organ or bass in a band like that.

Kind words. I'll admit I am having the "fun of my bass life" with these guys. We're a fun, happy, family friendly dance band. Crowds come out to dance. All the tracks on our site are my 34" Lakland Hollowbody with the original Barts. It tracks big and sound engineers, especially in this Latin stuff love it.

Any recommendations for having a 55-94 re-fretted? The one I play the most is getting pretty deep grooves in many of the frets. I'm thinking the solution is to have them replaced. Not sure if a local shop could do it or if Lakland does that kind of work. Any tips would be appreciated.
Is it affecting how it plays, buzzing or causing intonation issues? Or is it just bothering you visually?
I once had Pat Wilkins refret a 55-94. I remember asking Lakland which fretwire they used, but I can't remember from the top of my head. Carl Pedigo in Chicago would be a great choice. But really any good luthier should be capable of doing it.
I am thinking 6230 fretwire, but I’m not sure what alloy is used.
I stopped by Carl yesterday to get some fret ends filed and some tweaks/setups on non-Lakland basses (GASP!). He makes it all look so easy... and of course does excellent work. Definitely a perk of living in Chicago

we chose stew mac 148 because it's smaller and allows for less fret noise. many people like to suggest wider fretwire when doing a refret because it hides some of the tearout resulting from pulling the frets.

I got to play a shoreline a few years ago when I was in Japan for business... It almost came home with me!
It was really nice...on par with US lakies!
The only thing stopping me was knowing I'd have a heck of a time explaining it to my wife!

Did you happen to see a nice piece of bookmatched quilted maple ready to be put on a body?
Not far enough along.....BUT, I did sell Tabby to get the money for this one (Yes - It's been in discussion a long time) - JJ is helping me with electronics choices etc.
Hints - it WILL be a 5 string....and a 55-94 shape...but that is already a given
