Lead guitar does not like my tee shirt design.

Nope, not clear, maybe to you, but not everyone. In the design world that is a big FAIL. Sorry.

Lol, well 20+ people liked it on here, so it must be pretty clear. Your original post said it wasn't clear whether it was an anvil, vice grip, or some other tool. It's actually none of those things. It is an abstracted E/F combined as a symbol. I designed it so this is not immediately obvious. I took elements of all of those different tools (and others, like a missile for the horn part) and incorporated them into the design. I put a lot of thought into it. I just wanted it to be unique, original, and also simple. It may not be super pro graphic design level worthy (I only minored in art, I have no professional experience other than some website management experience), but I think it's fine. That aside, I appreciate your input. I'm curious how you'd design it. Feel free to post your own rendition if you want.

So, then black is the best color for metal?
Nice logo, well-done. I vote for white on black (and I don't even care for metal myself).

As far as stage attire, I suggest cargo shorts, flip-flops and white Fender t-shirts, with a black one for the guitarist, so he stands out.

It's badass, trust me, you did a good job. I could instantly see all the various elements and how you roughed them into the shape of an anvil, which is roughly synonymous with a forge, which is very clever.

Compared to most of the ridiculously confusing and illogical crap band symbolism out there, this is heads and tails above. Your band members should feel fortunate and relieved.

The more you participate in this thing called music and entertainment, the more you will see how hard it is to depend on other musicians for valid objective helpful feedback. Remember who your real audience is, and it ain't the <1% of the people who consider themselves creative artistes. Hyper-critical musicians have a hard time thinking like the average person in the audience.

I'd say it's clear to most men what it is....an anvil. I could see how some women might not know what they're looking at in regards to it's specific name, but I'd assume most would recognize its shape at the least.
Especially if they have ever seen a looney toons cartoon...ACME makes tons of em

Man. Every time I miss being in a band I just read a thread like this and I'm cured for a year.
While I do have a group that I play with on occasion, I really do enjoy my solo gigs! Only person I have to deal with is the boss (wife!) LOL.
I watched your vid and it seems like the guitarist is featured a lot so that might help his FAT ego feel he can push you around.
If this is one of many issues, stand up for yourself, man! This is like real Life. If you lay down people will trample you.
I also have to say I would like one of those shirts in gray, navy blue, red, but sorry chum no white.

Get in there! Let us know how it turns out. You may be surprised. If he's as big a jerk as you say, maybe slapping him down a peg and standing your ground may wake up other band members. Good luck!

Hey, not trying to be harsh... decent image, just being honest with my thoughts... excellent idea to integrate the name of band in an image. I would simplify image and create a universally known one that people can identify quickly. I would move type up closer to image to make it appear to be one design, instead of two separate images. Perhaps even bring image and type together as one. Good luck with your final product.

LOL well this was addressed at the time. I thought it wasn't really cool that all the shots of me and the drummer are milliseconds... but the guitarist did pay for the video.

Eh, I'm generally not a big fan of music videos with the band in them.

I'm usually not. My favorite band is Tool if that tells you anything. I really would like to do a 3d animated vid. I actually have one storyboarded out. There is no way in hell I would start working on that without the immediate approval of all bandmates, especially after this fiasco.

When you make a stand, don't ever go back over it and make excuses like you did. That makes you sound weak. Stand by your opinion. If he's not worried about being a jerk, turnaround is fair play.

Tell the lead guitarrrd that you don't like his strings.

Amen brudda. I don't usually react so negatively and I'm not vindictive by nature, but I've had too many people try and use me in my life. I learned eventually, if you snarl back they'll stop trying to bite you. It's your job to stand up for yourself. Best of luck, by the way like the white on black T's.

Yeah. I'm generally more fond of videos that the band themselves aren't in at all. Tool's videos are always interesting.

I like this style, too:
