Lets Buy A Wish Part II

If there is any room left (its only been one day and I'm already late

Here's my take on a few of the issues that have come up:
I'm not sure 2-4 days would be enough for everyone involved. I realize it will add time to the overall project, but I'd like to have enough time to get comfortable with it and get over the initial shock of the thing .I'd be OK with saying 4-6 days, maybe allowing it to go a bit over for someone if they can/will gig with it (PHOTOS ARE A MUST!!!) but everyone commit to turning it around as quick as possible.
As for what happens to the bass at the end, someone mentioned that they might want to buy the rest of us out and keep the Wish. That would be fine by me, but it's not the $$ that matters to me. I DO like the idea of everyone signing it. I'd like to add that everyone get a photo taken of them with the bass, then as someone else suggested, returning it to Wish to get a Photo of it with him (after being signed of course) and maybe sending it back to Wish's prefered dealer (e-bay) for auction (including the photos of each member and Wish) to benefit a good cause to be determined (maybe even TB). I'd even be willing to make up some sort of collage/certificate of authenticity type thing with the photos to go allong in the auction.
Well that's my 2 cents. Let's hear others and any other issues people can think of.

I, too, prefer the Peanut style...I also think the MM P/U would be very cool- the single J has already been done in the other thread. Would this be amenable to the rest of the committee? It's just a suggestion, but I think I might have a valid point- we'd get to try something a little different from the last one, and perhaps gain a broader perspective. Anyone else think this could be a good idea?

It'll be the (please excuse the language) "sl*t" wish bass.
Another thing I forgot to weigh in on was letting Wish know what was up vs. getting one "off the shelf" and I can go either way on this. One one hand I'd like to see what is typical of his basses without any taint of it being created specifically for being reviewed. On the other hand, I would also like to see his best example of his abilities, even if it goes beyond what is typical. E.G. if you could get a "typical" Wish for around $300 but for say $500 he would work on getting it a bit more "refined" as in better fit and finish, sanding/glueing attention or what not and the tone and playability are as great as his proponents crow about, I think many buyers might be willing to spend the extra $$$. So IMO it would be great to get to review a bass that Wish considers to be is best work.
As for the MM vs J pickup decision I would probably prefer the MM also, but it wouldn't really bother me either way since whatever it has we'll know it so we have a bassis of what to expect tone-wise from either option.

The Peanut seems to be preffered. I will try to get this one but it'll be dependant on how much contributing suport we can gather. I will try really hard to at least get one with the MM pup.
I think the length of time each member should get should be no longer than 6 days. Personally, I will not hold on to it that long since I am not currently gigging (I am in grad. school).

I would suggest you stay away from the stude as it is meant to be a "student" model, hence the name stude. I believe it has a smaller scale, etc. Your best best is to spend the same $200, maybe a bit more ($250) and buy a peanut. It is full scale, more designed, etc. It should be more representative of a wish that you would bring to gigs.

Thanks for trying to get it to the gig. I know alot of you may not play that much fretless during a set, but I wanted to get different impressions of how it fit in with the rest of the band, or how it sounded during a solo, etc.
I'm interested but I'll make sure my parents don't mind the whole thing. I live in Montreal which is close enough to the Ombudsman's hometown, so maybe it can pass by here after he's done with it. I'll confirm it as soon as possible.
