Wait, so Phil Collins attended a public school to learn singing, acting, and dance. He was self taught on the drums, and earned an honorary doctorates in history, fine arts, and music. But his bandmates saw him as unworthy to be a member of "Geniuses"? Well, Mr. Collins... I mean Dr. Collins, possibly didn't appear too bright at the time the band formed. I assume Dr. Collins found out eventually, and had the last laugh.

His time at acting school does explain his appearances on Miami Vice, beyond just his music being used in the series. I vaguely remember him on the show and didn't think much of his acting. Maybe I need to find those episodes again to review.

They had the foresight to see Phil creating Pseudio and the decision was made. Genesis it will be.

I also read that another theory that banjo means "a bloody awful racket" in Wakandan. Apparently Dr. Livingstone pointed to someone playing a banjo and asked his guide "What's that?".. Similarly guitar may mean "only fit for firewood".

If "banjo" is derived from the words "tan" and "gee". The word "tan" means "seat", "seated", or "sit" and "gee" means "stick". Then does "banjo" mean "go sit on a stick"? I guess that might be interpreted as the sound one makes when they accidentally sit on something that sticks into their backside. Or, perhaps, it's a command on what to do with the instrument after making so much noise. Then "gee-tan" flips this meaning around a bit and is "take the stick and sit it upon the body". Is that a demand to put the instrument on the "body" of the fire or pile of firewood? To break the "stick" (guitar or neck of the guitar) over one's leg? A threat to break the instrument on another's head?

I will have to find more on the Wakandan language and culture. I can imagine the meanings of their words depends a lot on context and body language.

Edward James Olmos, one of the stars in Miami Vice, got his start as lead singer of his band, Pacific Ocean.

The band thought they were going to make it real big so a suitable name was chosen to reflect that.
