Before he died, conducting tests by Stephen Hawking, the Large Hadron Collider conclusively proved that the Big Bang was actually bacon popping on the griddle. And so everything began. Without bacon, there is no universe, no existence, no deliciousness.

Only partially correct.
It's not that the OhNo split the Beatles atom, it's that the small particle was reversed by occident one day, became negatively charged "onho" —

And this is where reverse entropy kicks in.
Flat wounds don’t work with active electronics because there are no windings.
You also must play a half step sharp when using flat wounds.
The diameter of the tuning pegs should be slightly reduced to accommodate flatwounds.
Definitely file the grooves on the nut so they are flat on the bottom to match the strings, or your sustain will suffer.
To overcome the problem of producing flat notes, flatwounds should be twisted counterclockwise for about two full turns when installing them.

Flats contain ONLY flat notes. If you want the full complement, you must buy an eight stringed bass with brights (only sharp notes) in alternating positions.
As an alternative, you can soak the strings in Sharps NA beer for a week and it will leech the flats out of the flats. Ironically, that is about all that beer is good for....
Soak those strings in the Mississippi and they'll become unbeatable twelve bar blues strings.
