Lenny Kravitz started his band as a Motorhead tribute. He called himself Lemmy Kravitz
LL Cool J opened his debut single with the words "don't call it a comeback cause I've been here for years" to make himself look like a veteran. This successful tactic was later copied by the Backstreet Boys whose career was launched with the words "Backstreet's back, all right!"
The Backstreet Boys originally were a cover band of the Norwegian Backstreet Girls.
LL Cool J was initially Cool JJ, but he received a cease and desist from Jimmie Walker who was trying to start a rap career. He expected his career to be Dyn-o-mite!
I met one of the Norwegian Backstreet Girls... A shot of penicillin and I was OK a week later.

Mc Hammer has a clause in his contract stating that he cannot perform if there is greater than a 7 knot wind in the area in case he is blown away. In the 1980s many metal bands had similar stipulations due to the big hair. Spandex became popular as it reduces drag on the rest of the body, reducing the risk of being blown away. The Edge also had this clause, to avoid any chance of a hat being blown off, revealing his shiny head. Which is ironic, as he's made his career standing next to a windbag.

Mr. Edge from U2 (The to his friends) has been working with several effects companies to develop non-electronic delays, modulations, and other effects. The hope is that U2 can eventually play an "unplugged" session.

That windbag's name was quite accidental. On a marquee, the Z in his name was accidentally rotated 90 degrees changing his name to BONO from what his bandmates usually called him.
Actually Mc Hammer is the stage name of Mickey Spillane, who plays in his downtime from writing.
