Interesting - I have had absolutely zero issues with the CS6, even with heavy laden patches and presets.

snagged a used one on reverb for 430

hoping it can replace chorus/vibrato/reverb/delay/looping/tuner

doubt it can make an analog sounding octave as good as my octavbre mk2 or a filter as good as the discombobulator but we'll see. probably replace my darkglass compressor too, im sure its good enough for that. Doubt it will replace the alpha omicron

but i can use the effects loop to add my own pedals in right? and then i can run it through the effects loop of my genzler and have it change channels too, right?

I hav a question for those who have used the synth parts of the HX Effects.

I am trying to replicate the synth tones of these tracks. I have used a Mark Bass Synth in the past live and it seems to work a treat. Only problem is that it is huge and I have to borrow one from a friend and would rather use my Helix.

Any ideas on how to dial this in?

I think it will be able to replace everything you listed. TBH I don't like the looper, I'm using a Ditto X4 instead.
Regarding OD it has a Darkglass model, but it's the B7K.
Also the EBS OctaBass emulation is really nice (BassOctaver in the legacy section), so it might do that as well.

You can bet money they will be great emulations. I’m super excited about the murf, scrambler and BDDI. And the tilting and shelf EQ! Can’t wait!

Ok so I got this thing

Jesus does anyone have a helix lt for trade for hx effects + cash/other pedals? Lol I already want more

Sounds are already great just running thru my amp

I think I haven't dialed in the perfect compressor tone I have from the darkglass hyperluminal in bus mode yet but I'm convinced it's there if I try hard enough. Studio compressor is CLOSE but maybe some eq. The darkglass bus is just so fat when set right

Also the octaver simply cannot hang with the octavbre mk 2. Probably the one thing I'm keeping

Distortions are fine, filters are fine, pitch up is fine, delays and reverbs are fine, chorus vibrato are fine, paralell processing can be put on any effect, looper is excellent

I'm happy

Havent tried it yet just straight into the front of the genzler Magellan

Amp has a decent drive sound so ideally I want to do 4 cable method + extra cable for channel switch + octavbre and maybe one or two other pedals in the effects loops and it would be perfect

Believe I'll keep the genzler 100% flat for now with no contour and just eq from the helix

Gunna take time to set up and I literally don't have enough long cables at the moment though lol

I have been a happy HX FX user for many months now. I don’t currently have the need, but my “upgrade” path would be to add an HX Stomp. Smaller footprints, modularity, scribble strips.

When I had need for both, the Stomp would go Comp>loop to HX FX>Amp/Cab>Volume pedal. HX FX would cover fx. Stomp would be always on so I could even hide it away.
That’s what I would do.

i have only 2 really long cables at the moment and a TON of patch cables from my big board

the included usb cable to connect to the computer for HX edit is also too short because i keep my desktop further away so i'll probably have to buy a longer one of those too (editing from the computer is just obviously better even though im finding it really intuitive to make simple presets on the unit itself. Although making the more complicated stuff i want to do with parallel processing, different eqs for different basses, etc would definitely be faster on a computer)

soo many wires, but TONE

oh and the tuner is perfectly fine too...simply dont need my polytune (killer dont get me wrong) with this. Sold.


i just hope they keep updating/supporting it for at least a few years before bringing out a new version and discontinuing this because im a late adopter

I was just talking about that with someone earlier. I think the helix is gonna be a main flagship for L6 for a while yet. I hope anyway. Even if it’s not, I’m sure they’ll keep updating it. Even after this new update and what it brings though, even if they didn’t ever update it again, I’d be hella happy with it as is.
