Nailed it. Sorry for any confusion chaps, not the best at describing!
The strymon big boxes would be straight forward using midi. But not sure how the small boxes work with a 'favourite' switch, I guess like you say when I get an El Cap to try it out!

They do make aftermarket switching that's not midi for strymon pedals too. I have one.

Thats just for the 'Big box' strymons, I'm talking about using HXe to 'replace' the need for the Stymon mini/favourites switch used for the smaller boxes, like the El Capistan.

I think you should probably reach out to Strymon and/or Line 6 directly about this. I'd measure a guess that it won't work as you're intending since I doubt the switching system the HXFX uses in this particular mode is the same as in the Strymon stuff.

Yeah I wasn’t suggesting you use it that for the HX. I was merely stating I used that switcher for my Mobius when I had one. And it’s a non midi switcher.

I think he's saying there is a way to trigger Strymon pedals from the HX without MIDI

Oh cool! I just got some more ideas from that thread to use the HX for. I keep forgetting how much the HX can do. I have like 3 exp pedals sitting in my apt on a shelf doing nothing when they could be doing a lot.

I have a few blocks where I use an expression pedal as another on/off switch.

I've never really found a good use for an exp with effects the way I play. But I always forget what possibilities I have in front of me. I'm going to see what I can do this weekend. I have confidence I will find use for you via the HX. I just started using a Dunlop miniX for a vol pedal at the very beginning of my chain. I've never had that and if you add some delay and other effects to that, man is it fun! Swells-R-Us

It takes me about 2-4 seconds to tune a string. When I’m done, my bass sounds like it’s in tune. I don’t imagine using it for setups and intonation, but for playing music, I’m wholly satisfied.

I A/B’d to the TU3 a couple times. It’s almost as fast as it. And as accurate. So there’s that...

Mine too. I’ve been gonna buy one of these for months, but the more I read, the more I think I’ll not make use of its features very well. I have this problem where I get frustrated fast if I can’t make things do what I want right away...

Me too, except that I'm starting to think I better hurry up and buy one so that I can master it by the time it becomes obsolete!

It’s really not that tough to navigate and figure out. I mean, I’m not crazy good with this kinda stuff but I can get around. And it was cruising through menus and settings quickly within 30 min.
