I'm glad I'm learning to slow down on gear purchases. Someone comes on TB and just raves about XYZ, next thing you know everyone just has to have one. Fast forward a few months and now poster has moved on to other things. More to have something to post about, while lots of people have made purchases that they now have come to realize might not have been what they needed. Or even worse, productcs were not as good as the slathering in chocolate icing made it sound.

Bummer. What is it doing? Not much in that simple little cab to rattle. Jorg is pretty good about dealing with stuff like this. I'm always a little bit afraid of blowing that cab into pieces, since it is so small and light, but it gets so massively loud (I just pummel the poor thing!). So far, so good though (over a couple of years already).

Good luck. Hopefully, Jorg can send you another one if there is a problem that can't be fixed by tightening it up or whatever.

Basically it's making a noise that I can only describe as screws on a piece of sheet metal that's being vibrated :p

I've opened the cab up to see if there was something resting on the cone. Nothing. Checked, as best I could, all of the joints to see if there was anything loose causing the rattle. Nothing. Out of fear I checked to if the speaker was blown. Using several online blown speaker checking guides I've determined that the speaker is fine. I hooked it all back up and played without the grill off to see if the speaker was behaving oddly or if the grill was causing the rattle. The speaker barely moves, so I know I'm not overdriving it, and the rattle is still present with the grill off.

My next step is to record a soundclip of it and send it to Jorg as well as posting it here on TB. I don't know if it will help, but it certainly couldn't hurt. My schedule's been so crammed lately that I simply haven't had time to do it yet. It made the cab unuseable at a studio gig two weeks ago. Bummer :(

I had an EA cab that did something like that, and it turned out to be the back attenuator plate being just a touch loose. I'd just call Jorg on the phone. He might just get a new one out to you and then have you send yours back. He's been known to do that.

I've settled on one bass and my old Ibanez GSR 200 as a backup. Then building a rack setup, ordering an LDS Cab, and I have a Genz shuttle 10T combo for smaller gigs. Might get a GK 12" combo for stuff in-between the GB and Rack+15/6/1.

Oh yeah and my fretless electric, and upright bass. :smug:

Currently waiting on Don to get in the 18sound horn. Sounds like he's really busy, I'd love to order soon but my avatar 12's will do fine in the meantime.

Nah, but they're alright. I will be getting rid of them if this LDS cab and rack setup are the beez knees, like they're supposed to be. I've always preferred to customize, or I would have stayed with my GK 700RBII, and the avatar 12's. If I absolutely had to, I could get used to gigging that forever.

My GAS was strong the past few years but I think it really is dissipating as I find what I'm after. :D

It's soooo good. I've had an issue with crackling/buzzing but I think it is a cable that just crapped out on me. I'll be checking again tomorrow and this weekend, but it is definitely the clearest and loudest cab I've ever heard. It's the perfect blend of light loud and low, because it's all of them! It definitely warms up with power though. Running it with my Shuttle Max 12.0 it sounded great, just lacked a little OOMPF if you know what I mean. With my GK 1001RB-II it can just hit you in the chest. Might be the class D thing too.

Oh yeah, I remember messaging you about your cab. :D That thing looks great, there's a pic of it saved on my computer. :D

I decided on the 15 because it costs less, and less weight/size appeals to me. I have a lot of steep stairs to go down from my 3rd floor, and I'm not sure where I'll be living after this either... :eek:

Nice! I want to take my own picture of it, I have KJung's saved when he tested it out :P

With the wheels it's really easy to move because it's tall enough to grab the handle on the top/back. The 15 is too short to do something like that with unless you got a collapsible handle, which would be really cool! Elevators help too ;)

Let us know how your cab comes along.
