I used to have an imaginary friend, but he said I was boring and ran away.
I do not own a Jabba, but I do have the little brother.
It comes with two SD Quarter pounder, which deliver a much deeper and almost Precision like tone.
This bass is way cheaper and on a lower level than a Jabba, but it proves the exelent quality level of Mayones as a boutique manufacturer.

Actually, I've become aware of and intrigued by these Mayones basses over the last few months. They look to be very well made.

Jabba was a heavyweight on the bass!
I used to have Jabba. 10 pounder of very balanced tone. Highly consistent across entire spectrum.
1. Heavy - 10.5 lbs.
2. Made me realize I'm devoted 4 string player.
3. Too much $$$ into it to haul around without me being paranoid over putting a nick or dent. I consider instrument as tool for me. BTW - toolbox in my garage has the same tools for 15 years now and all are well taken care of.
4. Too pretty for my ugly face - it was stealing all thunder from me. That's the real reason.
Saw him tonight with Hiromi. Wasn't playing that bass - was playing one that looked like the older Smith style body. Sounded great, and very different trio with him rather than Anthony Jackson.
he does own a Ken Smith? the headstock looks weird to me though as if it's a ken smith replica.
So Anthony Jackson is out of Hiromi trio for good ? Did he recover?
That must have been one great gig. BTW I believe at one point his Fodera Imperial II brought out the best of his techniques, style and playing.I am referring to Hadrien here.
On another note are the Mayones Jabba a better take on the classic jazz bass design than Sadowskys?
I have yet to try one.

Not my thing but I have no doubt it's a world-class instrument. Hadrien's a beast of a player.
Simon Phillips. He's an amazing drummer - used every drum and cymbal to great effect. He and Hiromi have a chemistry that I have never seen equaled. Period. I first saw him live in '80 playing with Jeff Beck. He can play any style, but has a deft touch and is incredibly melodic and inventive.
I have seen her solo once, seen the trio now 5x. Each time is a religious experience. Last night we took my wife's sister and a friend (both artists) in town from Hong Kong. They are not particularly music fans, but they were both moved (one to tears) by the show.
