Meltdowns! What trips your trigger?

I don't have 'freeways', but deer, and cattle in the road, or a tractor hauling a wagon load of hay a 10 mph (top speed for a John Deere) is common. One simply relaxes and takes it in stride.

I commute 160 miles (round trip) every day from central KY to Louisville. About 2/3 of it on back road twisties. My biggest risk is deer. In five years, my wife and I have "harvested" three deer two raccoons and at least 30 bunnies. I've followed various forms of farm equipment for fairly long distances. I consider them one of the charms of the area.

But once I hit the freeway, (I-65 for me) I expect freeway etiquette. When I give my lights a quick flash, they think I'm being "agressive" when, in fact, I am observing correct protocol. I often have to pass these flakes on the shoulder.

I drove in the Seattle area for 41 years. I moved to KY five years ago. The funny thing is that one of the two big reasons I moved here was I was sick and tired of the Seattle traffic. The last decade, if I was behind the wheel, I was thinking about cops. I was pulled over, on average, four times a year and received one ticket a year.

I RARELY think about them any more. It's like going back in time sixty years. There are also no motorcycle cops and no traffic cameras of any kind that dispense tickets. There are also no emissions tests required. This is a bit of a mixed blessing as sometimes I'm following a car that is burning so rich I have to either pass them or pull over.

The roads over here are a motorcyclists paradise and there is no helmet law. It's not just that the scenery is beautiful and they are twisty. They are extremely well maintained. Well, once you get out of the city. My road that gets almost no traffic (one car every couple of hours except for people that attend the local church) has been repaved twice since I moved here.

Haughtiness regarding personal assumptions on who has the "obvious" moral high ground just works both directions. You still don't recognize that in all humanity, perhaps even yourself?

Nope. People who abuse others clearly don't have any moral standing from which to pontificate. Why do you find it necessary to deflect for such people, seriously? Why out of all the things being flung around in this thread did you decide to defend this category of people?

Just a minor point: The only person to ever live that never abused others in one way, shape or form, was hung on a cross.

You don't have to be religious to claim false moral high ground. It's pretty much universal. It's a humanity thing.

Sort of, but it was well deserved. They were utterly ripping people off and using their religion to do it. He righteously put them in their place. He let them have it.

Oh certainly, but that doesn't make those who do it with religious authority better does it? @fjadams just said that trips his trigger, and a couple posters rushed in to defend and deflect them because they identified with one part of the description and interpreted it as an attack on their identity. We should all be able to agree that "mythological perverts who use their "holy book" as the reason for them to promote hatred, bigotry, racism to the general detriment of the rest of the world" is a bad thing even if we might share some particular aspect of that description.

One of the Beam family opened a small distillery by where I live called Moonpie. It literally tastes like liquid Moonpie, with a serious kick. They first made a few flavors of "moonshine". He signed a bunch of bottles with a "silver metalic" pen. I bought a few but have kept one unopened. I doubt I'll ever open it. It's a cute glass "moonshine jug".
