Mesa/Boogie Official Club Thread

I finally got to try the M6 out this weekend (through a Mesa 610). My god, is this a great sounding amp. It's kind of 'the Mesa for those who don't really dig Mesa'. Very SS sounding. You wouldn't even really know there was a tube in there. It's just tight, even, punchy, and has a crushingly tight, clean low end. Simply an amazing amp, and a very different flavor for Mesa. It sounds more like my Markbass F1 on steroids than my old MPulse600.

I like this amp A LOT!!!!!

Based on your past posts about the sound you prefer (which is pretty much spot-on for the tone I like too), I thought the M6 would be right up your alley.:)

The longer I have this setup, the more I like it. Another plus, for me, is that it's also a very straight-forward amp. No unnecessary controls, no confusing parametric EQ (I hate those!!). I thought that maybe the 5-position EQ control would be sort of a gimmick, but I've found that to be VERY useful also.

It's THE happiest I've been with a bass rig, ever. Something I can plug into and it immediately sounds great, with very little tweaking. Mesa nailed it with this one!!

I don't want to like yet another amp...

For me, I really like the para-q's.
Love the Walkabout; didn't like the M-Pulse 600...they sounded much different than I thought they would.

I might well like the M6; I still wish it had para-q.

It's not your typical Mesa, like Ken said. I've tried the BB750 and the M-Pulse 600 before, and had a hard time getting close to "my sound" with either of them. This one, however, had me sold on it after about the first three notes I played through it.

The big reason I like para-q is that it allows me to nail trouble spots.
This is more important for DB than electric...
Surprisingly, the Walkabout is a really great DB head.
The way I use it; input lower, master higher; limits a lot of it's "tubey potential."

So, the M6 being different in terms of cleaner, more accurate, etc isn't necessarily a downside for me. But, it's a bigger footprint, and I dunno if it would work for DB.
I'd like to give her a whirl round the dance floor and see waht happened tho;)

The LMII bit it for DB.

I'm sure it's a very handy feature to have, if you can put it to use. Unfortunately, I seem to be semi-parametrically ********, and can't make 'em work for me.:atoz:
