Vented lid or not, that's sounds like a heck of a deal, cmaranhao. If the vented lid is that important to you, see if Mesa will send you one for a decent price.

the only viable way is to get the importer to get me one and he already said the black ones are not available for Portugal.. ever again!
i am after this amplifier for almost a month with no results.. i will check the silver model today if i can, maybe i am lucky and the silver one has the vented top lid with the second fan.. looks wise, i much prefer the black face but i am ok with the silver too. functional wise, the cooling system is fundamental! lets see how it goes....someone at mesa boogie confirmed that they made adjustments to both black and silver models so if i am lucky enough, i might get the latest version with 50% off the retail price. that would be killer
if by any chance the model is still one of the early ones (mesa stuff do not sell that much over here due to its high price tag so this particular piece could be one of the first batch), with the 50% remaining money, i can buy some rack mounting fans or something. if it overheats that is.. i do not have the need to push it more than 600 or 700 W so there is a chance it does not overheat at all.. maybe 500W is enough for me too.

I've been using a Big Block 750 for a couple months now, love the sound and particularly love the look in the Mesa headcase. Badass! Locally there was a 1 year old Titan available at a good price so I had to pick it up. No headcase (anyone want to sell me theirs?) but I love the amp. I currently play in a fairly straight forward rock band so the available tones directly from the amp are perfect as I won't need any pedals for overdrive and fuzz sounds.

Gastric, I've got a BB750 and am thinking of getting a Titan since it's basically a BB750 with more power and features. Do you think they sound any different?
Where did you guys get your Titan rack handles from? Mine doesn't have any and I'd like to get a pair of black ones. Note I did not simply call Mesa and ask them, that'd have been too easy.
Obviously the Titan has two channels so you get more tonal options that way. But I do think they sound very similar in general. But I haven't directly A-B'ed them since picking up the Titan. But they both have that killer tube gain and saturation.
I'm looking to buy my first big rig(bigger than a combo) and I'm leaning heavy toward The V-12. I don't want to have to trade up later on and so I thought this might be the answer. I am young and poor and can't buy another rig If this is not perfect or at least close. I play a lot of technical metal, very fast almost jazzy and hopeful very clean but I need something big enough to stand along side a metal drummer. Is this the right amp for me or should I look elsewhere? I'v seem Troy Sanders live and I was blown away by volume but I play faster than a lot of the new Mastodon stuff so I don't know if it will transfer well. I saw the faceless live and I think he player through one but I don't know for shore if he does there is no question that this is the amp for me.

It sounds like the Titan would work perfectly for the type of music you are playing.
The V12 is a very versatile amp. You can get a pretty clean sound, and it's powerful enough to crank without breaking up. However, I think the Titan shines right at the "breakup point". Does that make sense? It sounds fabulous cranked with a bit of boost on the gain for that rock n roll grit. Of course, with the built-in distortion, it kills dirty too.
I came from a Mesa 400+, which is a great amp. However, I didn't care for the way the sound broke up at loud volumes. At "normal/reasonable" volumes, it was absolutely incredible, but I wanted something that could get extremely loud without changing the sound too drastically at high volumes. The Titan does exactly that. It's much quicker than the 400+ was, which is great for the style of music you're describing. But it keeps a tube-like characteristic. You can get it to sound pretty darn clean as well, however, if that's the sound you want, I suggest perhaps looking at the Mesa M9.
In short, I love the Titan V12. It's the first amp i've owned that has no shortcomings. And all foot controllable.... what more could one want? Of course, you need a cabinet that can handle what the Titan wants to dish out.

I was thinking a PH412 @ 4ohms. I've herd It live and it seems to lend itself to non-picking playing styles(which accurately describes my playing style for the most part) I've looked at the M9 and almost went for it but the titan really seems right. As long as it can keep up with dynamic highs and lows at high speeds and stay crisp it will work perfectly.
I'd imagine the PH412 would kill with it. A few lucky folks run that setup here. I've been GAS-free for a long time now, but the thought of a PH412 is starting to give me those GAS pains back.
Out of curiosity, has any of you Titan owners changed the pre tubes to a different brand? If so, is it a worthy "upgrade"?
Hey guys, might be joining the ranks with titan soon. I've had some problems with my M9 and have a chance of getting the titan as a replacement. I've sworn off the M's although the sound of it is perfect for me. I'm SS guy more so then a tube guy so I'm thinking that it might not be the best move for me.
Hows the Titan on clean head room? I do like the the Walkabout tone, is there any of that in the Titan?
I do like a "quick" head if that makes any sense, is it quick?
Anyone compare the M's to the titan?

Well, the Titan does have some of the Walkabout tone in there (more so than the M-Pulse 600, IMHO), but it is not going to be as quick or "solid state-like" as the M9. So it may be a mixed bag for you. I like the Titan a lot, and I would suggest that you invest some time tweaking the EQ, if you do get gone. But the M3/6/9 line (which I also like!) continues to offer a rather different voice for Mesa/Boogie, IME/IMHO.

I can't seem to local my manual. Oddly Mesa doesn't appear to provide manuals online, which is odd. They also don't have email support and their phone support is only M-Th. Slightly annoying.
So a question - the FX loop appears to be post master. The FX send level increases when increasing the master output.
This appears to be unique based on all of the other heads I've personally owned. Really, it makes the FX loop difficult to use as you have to re-calibrate FX levels anytime you change your master output volume.
Just to clarify: I set my gain, OD gain and OD level, and individual channel masters and leave those static. Set and forget for me. Then I adjust the amp output via the master output knob, the last knob at the bottom right, right below the solo knob. The signal sent to my FX loop changes in relation to the master output.
One other really minor odd thing I've noticed. If using the individual 1/4" footswitches connected to a momentary switch instead of using the factory Mesa 5 button footswitch, specifically for CH2 switching, I notice the head makes an audible clicking noise. This is likely normal switching noise. Not a problem, likely just switching noise. But if you put the amp in standby, which normally totally mutes the speaker output, then use the CH2 switching via the 1/4" jack you can hear a clicking noise out of the speaker output. It's very low volume. And doesn't seem to occur if the amp is NOT in standby. Anyone care to confirm?

Ordered mine just a couple of weeks ago and very existed. It's such a long wait. Been reading some horror story on line (I think having to do with the original model with the defects)and wondering how the costumer service?
I've never dealt with Mesa, personally, but they are supposed to be fantastic to deal with.
What "horror" have you been reading about? I've heard of a few issues, but nothing horrible.
I just played a large hall capable of holding a couple thousand people in the past 2 weeks with my Mesa Titan with a GB Uber 410 and an EarCandy 212 cab ...before the sound system was set up it still sounded awesome with plenty of headroom to spare with two guitarists ( one with two amps and the other with three) and a loud drummer...anyway, never had one bit of trouble with this monster amp and it has versitility to die for...as Tom said...this amp can do Mesa Walkabout tone @ 1200 watts!! Whew...mother of all amps IMO. Peace...DAcat
