Worldeeeter, I buyed a Walkabout
Next week it'll arrive.
Then I'll say my impression.
Thanks so much!
Excited to have picked up a used M6 here on TB yesterday... should arrive later this week. Will run it through a Fender 410 Neo or two Berg CN112s. My other amp is a Tecamp Puma 900.
I have the Puma 900 and had the Mesa M6. Two different forms of great. I bet you'll love both.
Good report there, mate. Cirrus basses are killer too...Hey family, just checking in. I had an outdoor gig today ( Wednesday July 15, 2015) and decided to break out the big guns. I played through my Mesa M6 Carbine head and my 4 ohm SWR Marcus Miller Golight 410 cab.
Needless to say, my tone was legendary. Also needless to say is that this sucker was LOUD. I play in a six piece blues rock band. So, here we were playing outdoors to begin with and I had my amp volume on ONE. Yes, folks, ONE. That was PLENTY loud enough to play outdoors and with the high output of a Peavey Cirrus preamp I was set. I didn't have my Peavey volume dimed. I had it at less than 50%. That way if I need more volume I just reach down two inches instead of having to turn around and reach for the amp.
I have been playing my "travel kit" lately which is my GK MBE 210 and my Mesa Walkabout head. Plenty loud enough and killer tone, but just not quite loud enough for what I needed today.
I haven't played my M6 in probably a year or so. Wow, it reminded me why I love this amp so much. Super FAST response, great tone, SIMPLE to dial in a tone in zero seconds flat. The SWR Marcus Miller cab needs no introduction. It is the 56 lb. Neo solution to the 98 lb SWR Goliath 3. Incredible tone and Easy to move, plus it has wheels.
So, my love affair with my Mesa M6 Carbine has been reignited and I will be using it from now on unless it's a small place that calls for my Walkabout combo or SWR Baby Blue II.
Pre-gig glamor shot. Sound guy says I'm filling up the room and he's putting only a smidge of bass FOH.
