The problem with the footswitch is that you can't match volumes of the different voice settings like you would be able to do with seperate channels. The 2 mid-boost settings are much louder than the other settings (especially the "flat" setting), so you'd need to change the volume on your amp or on your bass between songs anyway. One plus with the footswitch is the ability to use multiple voice settings stacked on top each other though, which is pretty cool (I had found one really good combo the time I messed with this, but I can't remember it now). This stacking can also be done by grounding tip to sleeve on some 1/4" plugs/adapters and plugging them into whatever voices you want to stack...
