Mesa M6 Carbine Mega-Thread Pt Deux

Used my M6 at it's first show last night. The club provided a back line so I used their 8x10 Ashdown cab. This head just kills it. Can't imagine a situation I would be playing in where it wouldn't be loud enough. I don't think I had it above 2 on the master. Guitar player commented on how clear and nice it sounded. Before I purchased this amp I always assumed terms like clean and clear would mean sterile, but this head just sounds so good.

I'm thinking of buying an M6, or M-Pulse 600. I need to find out if I can use an 8ohm (2x10) cabinet only. Ideally I'd like to be able to use 1 cabinet at smaller gigs, and an additional 8ohm cabinet at larger gigs. I've tried to go thru the older posts, haven't found the answer yet. I call Mesa Boogie today the person on the line said I could, but she didn't sound sure.
I allready have an Eden 8ohm cab. that I'd like to use. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Guys
I am a recent proud UK owner of a Mesa Fathom 2x12 combo. It has taken this long to be available over here.
What a monster of an amp this is.
I have just changed from a 400+/ powerhouse 4x10 and don't regret it one bit.

I have been browsing this thread and have seen some discussion about possible pre-amp tube changes, how did this work out in the end for anyone? any recommendations for tube makes? I have noticed a recent mesa boogie tube available called the Mesa 12AX7 R2 with lower gain and hiss, anyone tried this?

One more question, has anyone made a DIY foor switch for the voice and mute functions?

After a looong time, I finally got a M6. Been eyeing one for more than a year! Best amp for what I do. Really incredible.
I also wanted to add a Mesa PH410, awesome cab, but it weights too much for my daily stairs encounters. :) My Berg will have to do it.

Don't take me wrong, I love my Berg, but IMO, for my sound, the Mesa cab kills it. Too bad it is too heavy.

I tried the (lighter) Mesa 212 but didn't like it. Totally different from the 410.

I love the M6/UL410 thing, so, that oughta be great.
Yeah, it's a tad more scooped than the 410, but it's an S1, so it's not too bad, plus the M6 just seems to drive it really nicely... even without messing with voicings.

That Sadowsky PJ5 thing is great too, thanks for turning me on to that.
No problem. Enjoy that as I do. :)
