I live in Cincinnati. Ready to join the local posse. I never heard whether the parts were delivered. Any way I can help? I could pay him a visit at his house in Glendale, his shop in Sharonville, or his work in Covington. Just let me know.

No posse needed Tim.

So I have some parts... got a 15 piece neck, a brass hipshot a style bridge and four hipshot ultralight tuners. The pickup is a no name pickup he gave me for now. Mike said the original pickup was already installed and it would be too much to uninstall it so he ordered a new pickup from Nordstrand and he will call me when it was in.

I'll follow up with Mike next week on the pickup and let you know what happens.

The neck measures 48.5" long 3 7/16" wide thickness is 19/32" tapering to 1 29/32" the taper stops at about 39 1/2"

If anyone working on this project needs specific measurements or other info please pm me or just respond to this thread. I check it no less than daily.

pics (sorry for the crappy pics was in a hurry)`

Thats $1500 in parts? Shouldn't what ever the "original pickup" is installed in belong to Alex as well?

Mikey is pure scum

You mean the original THREE pickups. Funny that he should say the original has been installed and he can't get it out.

In one of the emails I posted pages back, he said he had bought several...

Go figure

Alas, I asked for this much out of him, and it's what I got. It was a MASSIVE compromise on my behalf, but basically my only way of getting something out of this ordeal

The positive vibes and assistance outweigh all the bad juju here. Man, that 1500 bucks in parts is what...like 300$? I don't even know but thanks to everybody that is helping AE out. (holding my friday afternoon beer glass in cheers to you while listening to a little thelonious)

well, for what it's worth, he won't be doing whatever it was that he claimed he was doing on talkbass anymore.

A terrible situation. As I said before I had nothing but positive dealings with Mike. It's unfortunate things ended up the way they did and I feel for Alex. I can't imagine being in his shoes. Thats why I agreed to get all the parts I could from Mike and ship them to wherever they go next.

It's great that Talkbass can come together and make something out of this. No. We probably don't have $1500 dollars worth of parts. However I'm really looking forward to what we can turn this into.:bassist:

Nice of you to get those parts for Alex aproud1. I'm sure it was an awkward exchange. Love to hear how that went down actually. The neck blank actually looks nice but everyone here knows the wood will generally be cheaper than the hardware...and that's maybe $150 of Hipshot right there. I'm guessing he says he made the neck with timber from the H.M.S. Resolute.

Huh? It's still 1500 bucks to the guy who placed the order. That's a nasty, nasty loss.

I think he means that that supposed "$1500" in parts looks more like about $300 worth of stuff to him.

I don't know how much cost went into the neck, but it looks like about $300 in just hardware. A 15-piece neck blank with those woods, even built by Jeff Albertson is probably at least another $200.
