Misconstrued Lyrics!

I was once with a buddy listening to Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, and after the line just before the chorus he turns to me and says, "what a stupid lyric, and how would someone know that the girl had a disease that's internal"

I said "what?"

He says "the lyric...a girl with Colitis goes by"

Once I was listening to SRV's "Wall of Denial," (actually, it was "Tight Rope") and one of the lines was "Cat got yer turtle ..." So I got to thinking how cool that was, because it was, like, blues for little kids. You know, the kid goes to the fair and wins one of those little salmonella-ridden turtles at the dime toss. He brings it home, puts it in a little glass bowl, and goes to sleep happier than a clam, only to wake up the next morning to see its mutilated, dried-out, little corpse lying on his bedroom floor. There's the cat, three feet away, washing his chops with his paw and looking proud. You know how cats are.

So here are some blues that kids can really appreciate. Only it's "Can't catch a turtle in this rat race."

Hi.

WOW, "Slow moving Walter, that fire engine guy" that is hilarious.

Once upon a time a one gig group I was playing in did D.A.D covers.

A freiend of the guitarist wanted to know if we played "Shaving My Head Away" (Sleeping My Day Away)

:eyebrow::eyebrow:

We DID laugh at him and in fact that line stayed for our amusement for quite a while. Ah well, he is a guitarist and he DID get two out of four words correctly.

And it's actually Def Leppard not Def Leapord.

Regards
Sam

rofl....

"i likes to go shopping.....yeah that's my bag..."

cold shot

One I could never tell.....

Is it "give me one vision"

Or....."give me fried chicken" ? ( Queen )

Matt

Are you kidding? It's pretty obvious the last two words in the song are "fried chicken" as opposed to "one vision" ... they left it in there as a joke... You should hear some of the other substituted/placeholder lyrics that were in the song before it was finished. Some were kinda x-rated. In the end they left "fried chicken" in there, although the echo effect after it repeats "vision"

I once entered a singing competition singing a Def Leppard set:

Def Leppard- Women
My lyrics: "...what's that smell?"
Real lyrics: "what's that SPELL?"

Pour Some Sugar On Me

My lyrics: "..like a lover with a red iPhone"
Real lyrics: "...like a lover with a radar phone..."

The last one is the most stupid- the song was written in 1987!

Heh, I think the worst one I've had was for Megadeth's Symphony of Destruction...

My lyrics: "You try to take its balls, before the head explodes."
Real lyrics: "You try to take its pulse, before the head explodes."

John Prine was talking about a woman who came up and requested that he sing that song about "...a half an enchilada..." He was puzzled, and asked her to sing a little bit of it for him. Turns out, she was talking about a song that says, "...Just a half an inch of water and you think you're gonna' drown..."

My other favourites:

Rush- Limelight

My lyrics: "Living in the limelight like Thierry Henry)
Real lyrics: "Living in the limelight approaches the unreal"

Level 42- Heaven In My Hands
My lyrics: People say I'm Mark King (yes I know about that, yes I know about that)
Real lyrics "People say I'm nothing (yes I know about that, yes I know about that)

I'm an idiot.
