Misconstrued Lyrics!

for a long time I thought the chorus to metallicas fuel began with:

"Ooooo, oh that bird"
(ooooo, on I burn)

also, before i got the lyrics for lethargica by meshuggah, I thought it sounded like:
A lethargic, cow explosion, to kill
monsters, prodigies, in the furrel
slow and deliberate, distorted rice goat
real lyrics:
a lethargic, careless motion to kill
monstrous, pordigous, indeifferent
slow and deliberate its torturous skills

I used to have a band. First time we got together, we contemplated doing Sweet Home Alabama. My buddy, the singer, takes it from the top, just to see if he knows it. He does fine until he gets to "Singin' songs about the southland" which he sings as "Singin' songs about the subway". Epic lulz.

For many years, I couldn't work out why the Rolling Stones suddenly started singing about everyone's favourite cheesy pasta snack in the middle of a song that seemed to be about gambling.

Then one day I realised that the line 'Macaroni' from the song 'Tumbling Dice' was actually 'Got to roll me'.

Personal "misheard lyrics" confession.

For years I couldn't tell what Michael Stipe was singing on REM's "The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight" I listened to it via mp3 and never looked at the cd for the lyrics.

Here's what I heard all these years

"Only in Jamaica"
"Only a chowdermaker"

instead of

"Don't even try to wake her".......

Of course on "Document" I never understood ANY words on ANY song......at least they've gotten a LITTLE better over the years..

How about War's "Spill the Wine" - Spill the wine, take that pearl.

Most people think it is "ooh I dig that girl".

You have just altered my reality. Nothing is real anymore. The entire world knows he's saying "dig that girl". No. This can't be true. I thought it was a joke. I checked and it seems it's not. Nothing will ever be the same. :crying::crying::crying:

In the 80s I used to sing Blue Oyster Cult's "Burnin' For You". There was one line I never could understand. I just decided to sing this:
"I've seen suns that were freezin' their lines of worth through",
which makes no sense. Nobody ever called me on it, and I never did get the real lyric!

Edit: just googled it. Lyric freak says the line is:
"Ive seen suns that were freezing and lives that were through"
Freezing suns? Meh, still doesn't make a lot of sense. But it turns out I was pretty close. Too bad there was no google back then.

Now I have closure! Yay!

I know my cousin, listening to the beastie boys' "Intergalactic," thought the line "another dimension" was "I have an erection."

To this day, i've been in vast amounts of tears, laughing.
:D

On another note, checking kissthisguy
