MLB 2018

I have never heard of a catcher not wearing a cup! Reminds of an old roommate at Arizona State; he was trying to walk-on as an infielder and was always saying how he had never been hit by a ground ball.
Well, one day, he came limping into the room. I asked him if he had some type of leg injury. All he could say was, 'ground ball took a bad hop and got me!' I didn't make fun of him since he was limping for a good two weeks but the other two roommates did!

You’re a good roommate, and a better man.

...in the wake of Kurt Suzuki’ 2-Run HR which brought the score to 4-0, Braves in the 4th, Braves announcer Joe Simpson thought it might be insightful to point out that ‘Now the Diamondbacks need 5 runs to win’...

...and I put my head in my hands and said aloud: “Mother Of Gawd!!! Did you learn Nothing yesterday?!!”

If the Angels traded him, the fans would level the stadium. They are in a tough situation. There is no way a trade could get back anything close to equal value, but I don't think the team has enough to put together a winner WITH him.

My brother in law is a massive Angels fan. He feels the same way. I think he might be more of a Trout fan than an Angels fan now. He just wants him to be on a World Series team.

The first time he didn't get a hit, he'd be booed.:D

Being a local-ish boy he certainly knows this :D

Got thump, down there, before when I was the bucket guy for batting practice. I was the guy put the balls in the bucket, after they were tossed in by the other fielders then the bucket was returned to the person throwing batting practice. Got distracted for one second then I saw one coming but didn't have enough time to react then BOOM! Did the rest of the team show me any pity...no!

I AM the walking dead today, after staying up until 2am to watch My Braves try their damndest to give that game away...the Day After they folded like a wal*mart card table, letting the Saux (the Best team in baseball, but Still, in the name of all that is righteous about the Game!!) claw their way back into the game after being down 7-1...For A Sweep, At Home:banghead::banghead::banghead:!!!

They won in 10.

They’re gonna have to get it done without me tonight...

One story I've never heard discussed anywhere - the lousy job the Arizona G.M. has been doing, including:

Didi Gregorious - was their starting SS. Traded him to the Yankees for almost nothing, where he has been one of their best players.
Trevor Bauer - he was a high draft pick for them, and highly regarded. They thought he was a little flaky (he is), so they traded him to Cleveland, where he is a Cy Young candidate.
Dansby Swanson - trade him to Atlanta, where he is starting, and a budding star.
J.D. Martinez - he was the spark for them last year, and was signed for a reasonable free agent contract by Boston. Imagine what their lineup would be with him and Goldschmidt back to back all season?

Weather has wreaked absolute havoc with the Cubs' schedule.

And with Florence on the way, they may end up flying to DC on Thursday for that one game between home series and not even get to play!

Right now, though, they have to put that aside and focus on this critical three game series with the Brewers. Hopefully Lester will be solid tonight after pitching one inning Friday night before that game was postponed.

Yet they’re still in the thick of the most hotly contested division. Yes, one could certainly argue he should go. But as a Dodger fan, I’ll take whatever mistakes he made with a grain of salt. Too many games remaining to judge. Just hoping the boys in blue get past the Reds and Cardinals this week and get back on top in the West.

As a Rockies fan, I'm not sympathetic to Arizona. And I'm rooting for the Rox to win their first NL West crown! The Dodgers will have plenty of opportunity to make a run next year.

Just imagine if they had those players...

David Wright will play his last game. The issue was that insurance is paying 75% of his salary, and if he goes back on the DL, there is a 60 day period before insurance will pick back up. He is being reactivated 9/25, and will start on 9/25. My guess is the Mets will try to put him back on the DL before the end of the season.

Great Met, great leader, great player.

We are in Ireland.
The Braves have been playing @ the D Backs & Giants since we’ve been gone.
My daughter, who has been Raised Right, woke me with the news that the Braves beat the Giants (2-1) ‘last night’...and then: “They even have a Magic Number now!”

STOP! STOP!!!
Get back to me when that # is 2...maybe 3!
It’s WAY to early to start that kinda talk!!!
