That is one sexy beast, Lagoula! I have to ask you, though: is this bass good for met-...kidding!!
I think I see a four string version of one of these in my future.
5 string isn't always a substitute for drop tuning, I play in a thrash metal band where about half the songs are written in drop D, so there's lots of riffs that use of the open low D with some parts being straight 16ths at 150-160bpm, I simply can't play that fast across multiple strings and keep it sounding tight, so playing the D on the B string isn't an option.
I am not sure there's enough place for a detuner for the E string. B tuner will be geting in the way I am afraid.
Don't hold me to this, but I think I remember reading, that some one switched tuning post that the E and B string were on, so they could put a detuner on the E ( technically the B )
I think the person was looking to do the same thing.

You know what I'd like to see? A MP Precision, same build quality, electronics, pickup-quality etc. Preferably PJ, maybe, a black & a lake placid blue with maple fretboards, and white and sunburst with rosewood (black pickguards on all would be my choice). Satin finish would be ideal, love the feel of my Jazz.
Unlikely, I know, but I think these would fulfill the modern aspect, and would play & sound amazingly for the price. Hell, if they need to give it a more modern twist, have the coil-tapped humbucker Jazz pickup at the bridge. I bet they'd sell like crazy.

Here's my first (ever) Soundcloud recording. I used the MP Jazz V through my Genz Benz STL 900 using the DI out to a little Tascam. Both humbuckers on full with the tone knob back about 25%.
I picked a slap line just to get some idea of how the recording would sound, as this was my first ever.

OK I caved!
After hmming and hawing I finally pulled the trigger on a MP Jazz V, 2TSB.
It shall arrive in 5 days (I hope). Cannot wait - my first 5'er!

iv order by Ebay, hipshot strings retainer (2 strings + 3 strings chrome), official bone nut V string Fender, for replace the synthetic Nut..
So the head of the bass will look like Marcus V with a better Nut.

Anyone on the fence about getting a Modern Player Jazz V should REALLY try one out if you can. I finally got to run it through the gig rig tonight and oh man!!! I am just stoked! It really embodies what i love in a jazz, but with some real balls behind it. The humbuckers deliver in spades. This one is a keeper big time. The amount of flexibility and tone options in a passive Jazz, with zero hum, is just awesome.

Fender: 10+lbs just isn't alright for many people!!!!
