I really like the Modern Player V in white, but I wish it came with a maple neck and blocks (hey, a fella can dream!).

I played the Dimension bass on Saturday -I really liked the 2nd and 4th positions on the rotary. The neck on the Dimension is thin front-to-back which I don't really like. It's a great sounding bass especially for the money.

Do you know for certain "the pickup failed?"

I'd bet $5 it's a loose ground wire on that circuit; or a solder joint that came loose.

According to the owner it did, dealer checked it & swapped the pickup from the display model, so I can only assume it was the pickup but it's not my bass so no way to know for sure.

Lagoula said his was about 5 kilos. So 11lbs roughly. That will probably be different with every instrument. I'll weigh mine when it gets here.

The one I played probably weighed about that as well, my 76 P is just over 10.5lbs & the Jazz V felt about the same, maybe a little bit heavier, it's certainly not a light bass.

I am not liking that very much....I have two other basses that weight in at about 11lbs and they rarely get played.

Since i have receive my MP V Black , i stop to looking every days catalog of bass, GAS is finish for me ! im a satisfied man now ! rotary switch its like 4 in 1 bass for me ! maybe a cheaper fretless in the future, but no more bass anymore ! cause too much bass, its too much bass not played..

Does anyone have any idea how the satin finishes on these are likely to wear? Does it rub naturally, or is it more likely to just ding/crack in a similar way to poly (I'm assuming the latter)?

I loved the RB pickups, so I hope they are close.
