Modulus Mob

Just to clarify, the Modulus Quantum Sweet Spot model is the single pickup bass in the Stingray position. The Turbo refers to the added pickup option between the existing pickup and the bridge. As I understand it, DeathDancer's model is the "Quantum 5 Sweet Spot Turbo Custom". Quite a mouthful.

And, yes, lotsa punch and some extra mid range quack as compared to the normal Quantum 5.

Green is my favorite color but I also really like orange. The Quantum 6 that replaced it was amber burst like the Q5 that is on its way.

That bass though: green and black, I love the look!

Quantum 6 Sweet Spot Turbo Custom! Yeah def punchy when I want it to be! :)

Somebody say green and black Modulus?
and its a sweetspot!

Nice!!

I would kill for a new one but they're 8 grand :bawl:

Yeah, that's why I got this one, despite it not being exactly what I wanted. My suspicion is that the new ones are also not as neck heavy as this one and I would prefer the pickup placement of the newer ones as well (these pickups are a bit nudged toward the bridge). But, there really is something to the TBX tone. I will probably have to sell my Q6, though, to recover financially. It's got my favorite neck of any Modulus I've played.

I haven't gotten the chance to play one, but they look dreamy. I'd love to do a side by side comparison. I am digging your TBX though, love the color. What year is your Q6? I know I'd be interested as well as others in here.

It's a 1991 neck and the body is from Art Araya's 5 string and was adapted by Jack Read. As such, it's a bit of a mongrel Modulus, but it plays and sounds great. I'll get some pictures of that up in the next few days.

My only complaint about the TBX is that the neck does have a slight bow in it, so the action is a funky and some of the notes around frets 14-18 get buzzy. Eventually it will probably need a refret from the factory with adjustments. A new bridge would be nice, too.

Came across an excellent conditioned '04 Semi hollow Q6 I might be buying. The guy wants $2,900 for it. What do you guys think on price? Seems a bit high to me, wanted to get some opinions. Thanks! :bassist:

Seems a little high, although it depends on the woods and the electronics. If it had a really nice top and Lane Poors, well, maybe.

It has Bart's, which is cool but I already have that setup. I guess I could switch them out to EMG or something different. How do the Lane's compare to Bart's?

I don't plan to use the bass with any bands, just to record some solo material

Meanwhile, I tried to email several times to modulus custom service and to Joe Perman.
Never recieved a reply. I can't call them because I am not from the US. Is there any way to contact them? Maybe someone has some secret email adress?

By the way, has anyone heard anything about legacy lane poor? They want $200 for MM4 pup. Never seen any reviews.
